Washington's Birthday has been celebrated as a general practice for a hell of long time.
That is what the origin of the 'President's day' holiday. First person in modern history to hand back power in the manner of Cincinati. Not just once, but twice. We seem to be one of the few country's today that most of the people don't see that as an amazing example.

Dont get your panties in a bunch.....not slamming George Washington or the USA....Today is not Washington's actual birthday...I mean made up holidays by the fact that only government employees normally get it off...Hell I'm surprised that some of them dont get St. Patrick's day off...lol
