I'm looking for a pre-emissions carter thermoquad or one from a 440 truck up to 1977. Specifically the 1972-74 carbs.

My location is Manitoba Canada just to let you know beforehand.

Thanks,
Brent

Jake

What engine is it going on?
The carb will be going on a modified 455 Pontiac so a pre-1978 truck tquad would be perfect so numbers matching guys can find the harder to find model numbers for restos

Too bad, I was just in Winniipeg, could have brought one that I have.

Maybe in another 5 yrs or so to see my wife's relatives. :(

Hopefully I can find something from you guys as I cant stand ebay and the shady sellers.

Some carb numbers of interest are 9034, 9035, 9036, and 9096. Obviously this doesn't include 72-74 big block thermoquads but just wanted to list some numbers.

The summit units are out of my price range unfortunately.

Thank you everyone for your responses,
Brent

These were so common there's got to be many in junkyards up there. The one issue I know of is worn throttle shafts limiting a simple rebuild.

Not around me unfortunately Idaho. Especially the early 70's stuff

i have a NOS base plate assy here. i will check the numbers and list it here today.

Interesting to note that the 2146 top-plate is the desirable version. Looks like the 2141 top is the one what introduced the emulsion holes in the idle circuitry.

Not than I'm an expert but it would seem the solid fuel version is the way to go

I have tq and a kit. Carb came off 1976 motor home 440. do you have a US address to send to? If not can still help you $69 includes kit. Shipping will be up to you.

I haven’t heard back from him since Feb 22nd. Last time he was on was Feb 23rd. He wanted a couple of carbs I have. He may have found what he wanted. Kim

Being you are using a Mopar TQ on a Pontiac you might want to change the throttle shaft to a GM shaft from a 9800 series GM TQ. I have a couple that I've put Mopar shafts in the GM carb. Let me know if you want one. I'll send you some new throttle shaft screws if needed.
