Been a member on the FBBO site for a number of years and recently completed a '66 426 hemi build and looking for a new project. This car pops up and I'm looking to go see it next weekend, a 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix with a 383 and dual cross ram and manual (assuming 3 on the tree from research thus far). Claims to be 1 of 12 with this motor/trans. Anyone know anything about these cars or where to get information before I make the drive?

FCBO, although not a C body, the aforementioned vehicle is a "foward look" dodge.

They have a forum sub category labeled " foward look" on FCBO.

60-61 Full size
62. B body
63 on. A body
I'm not sure what Chrysler called the full size platform in 60-61, but the Darts were definitely not A bodies.
Those are awesome cars! Good luck with it!

The Forward Look guys have been very helpful and connected me to the Darrell Davis books. Turns out these cars were poorly received during the '61/'62 model years and the HP gains from things like cross-ram and use of aluminum kept them alive until the '63 model year redesigns. The '61-63 413 learnings led to the 426 Wedge and Hemi so kinda cool.

I would love to see some pics ! A Pheonix with cross Rams would be such a great sleeper. The interiors are a work of art !

Hoping the guy responds (two emails with my number) so I can head up this weekend and will take pics. He says it's running which would be cool. Apparently they came with two options on the cross-rams; 30" and 15". The 30" were for torque and cruising at 2K RPM and the 15" were for high end speed. Fingers crossed it's legit and we can cut a deal. I'll start a build thread on FCBO if I can secure it.

Her's the one I had a few years back, new interior, 413 motor, great sound system, came outta Cali, BUT it didn't last long, I'm never satisfied, a bird in the bush is worth 5 in the hand, yep, that's my motto.
