It is not what it used to be. Get rid of the restrictor plates and let them race. If you can set up your car better than the rest of the field, you should not be penalized to “even” up the field.

The restrictor plate was introduced to slow the cars down to a safer level. Not to "even up the field" though, it did just what you said.
