Need help choosing a converter

Hi guys I just had a 360 built for my 67 dart and I got a 727 for it but I need a converter. I want to run a stock type converter since it will be a street car. I’m willing to drive something with a little bit higher of a stall in it but I don’t want anything crazy. I have the tci flex plate so I need a unweighted converter or I can take the weights off Any recommendations? 3.73 gears. I have a picture of the cam specs below and a picture of the flex plate I have. Thanks everyone!

I once read somewhere that a stock six cylinder converter is good for 500 rpm increase . They came in trucks. Don't hold me to that, just wanting to be part of the discussion.
 
Isn't that the internal ballance plate?

I think for the 360 you need the star shape plate?

A good converter=not cheep.
A cheep converter =not good.

Is your 360 internally ballance?

I have a 3,800 stall in my dart from ultimate. I honestly wish i had gone higher and my car is a "street" car. I can't even tell is not the stock converter until i stomp on it but mine is an expensive converter.

I cant say how the cheep "high stall" converters drive.

With a built 360 theres no converter that is wimpy enough to not destroy the tire.

I’m looking for something that won’t be a pain in the butt if I get stuck in some traffic.
 
I regularly shift at 1,200 rpm and my fluid lasts a long time.

I know its been said to death but i cant say enough out how good a "good converter" is.
 
The days of the car jumping are gone with the new converters. You could drive a 5,000 8 inch converter in traffic and be fine as long as its a good one.

A cheep 5,000 8 inch probably not ok in traffic.

Like i said my 3,800 stall is not even noticable when leaving a stop. I drive stop and go traffic each time i fire up the car.

Tci recommended a 3500 stall
 
I would not hesitate to go with that.
If your 360 is making 1 HP per cube the tires dont stand a chance anyway.
With that converter if you ever get a good sticky tire under the car you will be set to use it!
 
Just whatever you do don't get a tci!! Go with a turbo action, dynamic, FTI or Ultimate. PTC can be a cheaper but still good choice for converter! Cope racing transmission carries those!
Dynamic, Ultimate and PTC all have excellent reputations. I had my converter redone by Pro Torque. Drives like a normal car but will allow the engine to do what is needed when it needs to be done. M cam is a little smaller than yours w/3.55’s in a 26 inch tire.

It did cost a few bucks though!
And I’d do it again in a heart beat right quick!
 
I would also look at a 3000-3500. The extra snap you get from a converter like that is nice, and if its a 9" or 10" unit it won't be too loose driving around town. Plus it will idle better in gear.
 
dynamic behind my big block, edge behind my slant. both work great! both are custom ( called/emailed what i was doing got the recommended convertor )
have tried a few Shelf convertors, never was happy with one of them. don't cheap out on the convertor, you wont be happy with it.
 
As stated earlier, do not cheap out on a converter. Contact any of the companies listed above (except TCI) & tell them your specs, they will suggest the correct converter for your application.
