Overdrive tranny in an A-body

To each his own. There is more than one way to put overdrive in these old cars. In the end, Viv la difference.

Let's all drive down our cars to Willow Springs in April for Spring Fling and race at the noon drag race. That's the beauty of overdrive. It makes trips like that more enjoyable.
 
Fact is GM went with the Allison trans for their big diesels, but Chrysler stuck with the 727 and just added an overdrive. I trust GM to know their own limitations.

yrs I have a gear vendor on my dart works really well . at 70 mph am revving 2400 or so with 3:55 gears and 235-15 tires , it is now apleasure on long cruises .. so far it has been bulletproof with my 360/426 stroker
