DNA

Most people don't know that DNA stands for "Deoxyribonucleic Acid" as opposed to RNA or Ribonucelic Acid. I still remember from Science and biology class (40 years ago) that DNA is nothing more than RNA without the oxygen molecule...thus "Deoxy" which means "without oxygen" or missing one oxygen molecule...............if I remember correctly!!! You can see in the left image (bottom right of DNA model) is missing an oxygen molecule (missing oxygen = "deoxy"). So...on the right we have RNA and on the left we have DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid)

It's funny that our existence depends on that one missing oxygen molecule, if the oxygen wasn't missing we would not have any DNA to pass on to our kids!!!!
