massive reconfiguration time again.

From my TQ days..... those back flaps are the most important adjustment in getting the carb to respond at a instant mash of the gas pedal at a low rpm. They work very successfully if one takes the time to get them set right. You have 2, and they must work in unification.
Today was starting from the ground up and getting the primary idle circuit correct. Yesterday it was running so rich when I first tried it out, and it was choking out when I hit the secondaries. Today all I did was take those heavy number seven Springs out and put the yellow Springs that I had in my old Edelbrock in there and it was instantly and major difference.. I counted the turns on the idle mixture screws and the rear carburetor had one and a half turns out and the front carb two turns out.. I turned the fronts in a half turn to match the back and picked up a little bit of idle and got a little leaner.... Just changing the springs the wideband O2 up about two and a half.. yesterday it was running around 9 barely 10 and today I was seeing hi 11 12 and 13's.. another thing that O2 sensor was going a little crazy...
I certainly wasn't smelling massive amounts of fuel like yesterday and I got one chance to get onto it pretty hard after it started out in first and it started frying tires while I was moving.. that's a good sign and at no point did it have any kind of bog...
