I'm starting the process of installing the twin scoops on my daughters Demon (having to drill/cut holes since it didn't originally have them). The scoops are OEM and in fair condition, a few of the studs have been replaced. Looking at the remaining factory studs in the scoop, I see they have a spacer/washer attached to them.

My question is, are the spacers on the studs really supposed to be sticking below the scoop the width of the spacer? I guess I've never really noticed that the scoops don't actually lay flat on the hood.

OK, thanks guys. It's a little unfortunate it has a mix of factory and non factory studs. I need to add one more stud as it's missing and the hole is reamed out. I'll do my best with epoxy and a new stud.

Thanks, epoxy should work fine. I was missing a few of the factory nuts but found some that work. Don't envy you having to locate and drill all the holes. Had my factory hood blasted on under side and they warped the crap out of hood so had to find another and put all the holes in, not too bad but would rather not have to do. 4 inch hole saw was perfect fit for rubber gaskets that fit in holes.
