74 Duster Turn signal canceling

Can anyone explain how it works, mine doesn’t cancel, just put a new switch in it didn’t cancel before either. Don’t know if Theres a part missing ???

There should be a steel finger that stick out on back of steering wheel it to cancel the switch it called a cam.it should be holding the horn ring on ,,If its there then your switch has the fingers broke off
