Found this little guy on the floor mat today

Is the stock lens still in place? I know with light it need diffused and absorbed. There is a anodization process called Optical Black that will absorb a certain range of color. Id really like to know how you mounted it. I'd like to do the same for my GTS and I have a spare gauge shroud.
I did not re-use the stock lens, instead I used a sheet of clear polycarbonate which has two layers of 30% tint on it. To mount the gauge unit in to stock bezel you need to cut a slot in the bezel on the bottom side for the gauge circuit board to set into and drill two holes in the top of the bezel in the lip area that sits hidden in the dash, these two holes with the kit supplied bolts will anchor the top of the gauge circuit board. You will have to custom make the lens cover to fit the bezel and drill holes for buttons on the gauge panel in the correct positions, drill them larger than needed as the buttons are very fragile and binding can damage them. I made a back cover for back of the bezel from the same kind of hardboard that you would find behind the back seat. I purchased a male and female electrical 12 pin plug and wired it up. I also used as much of the factory wiring as I could by soldiering nails on to the wires and plugging the nails into factory harness, that way it can be put back to stock configuration if desired. You will also have to cut the brake warning light bulb housing off of the old gauge cluster and bolt to the side of the bezel.
