Nitrous plumbing A1A...??..

Having an automatic retard box allows a street/strip car to be much more spontaneous. Allows you to pull more timing than required for added safety margin while spraying on pump gas, without giving up any NA power or mileage. When I pull up to a spot I don't have to get out of the car to adjust timing or air pressure, just flip the switch and reach behind the pass seat and turn on the bottle. Retard box then takes care of the timing, 'tamer takes care of the traction, nitrous delay sneaks the nitrous hit in right around clutch lockup where it least upsets the chassis/traction.

Sounds like there might be some street action around your neck of the woods????, I really really miss it around here!.

How bout something like this?

Aluminum Radiator Coolant Overflow Tank Bottle for Polaris Sportsman 700 2002 02 for sale online | eBay

I dont like the idea of fuel in a plastic washer fluid tank under my hood ,thats my thinking tho.

Shoot, didn't realize that one was so small but you get the idea.
I was liking the idea of some kind of clear or white plastic as I could see the level of fuel in it... I also planned on just using it when I wanted to use the nitrous. Having some kind of quick disconnect to be able to pump the tank empty before I went home from the track or when I was done using it..

It looks like I should have all my fittings and some new an lines coming later today. It doesn't look like my nitrous plates will be here till Tuesday...
Since I have an auxiliary fuel pump and regulator right now I would really like to get my little fuel tank.. there's a lot of options like little snowmobile tanks or little mini bike tanks or even lawn mower tanks.. I'm really looking for something I can set up on top of the will well that's not going to be big and intrusive.. also if I can't get it in a white plastic that I can see through I would at least like a sight window of some sort... One of the other problems is finding one with enough connections. Obviously most of them have a petcock on the bottom but I would also like somewhere to connect in an overflow to back circulate and also a breather tube is well. I would prefer not having a breather in the cap and having it slush around and spill out... This little tank isn't as easy as I thought it would be to find that's going to fit the bill..
All of this I would like to do soon as I would be able to pressure check with the nitrous plants outside the car and not have to worry about flooding it..

Have you thought of just adding another steel line into the existing sending unit of your stock location fuel tank? I assume it's stock location fuel tank and sending unit.
I did mine that way because I can't stand how it looks having a separate tank under the hood. Removed sending unit, drilled extra hole, bent a steel line to fit to the bottom, then soldered it in there. I saw the picture of your electric pump installation and it would be perfect for this.

I actually have a 10 gallon fuel cell and the pump that I want to use is mounted back there already. (Extremely annoying and loud as hell!) I actually have an AN fitting extra on the fuel sell as well. I've got my mixture down to 3 to 1 and was hoping to run 110 Sunoco in the nitrous side..
I think we're both saying the same thing...
We don't want something big in obstructive underneath the hood of the car. That's why I was thinking something small like that windshield washer bottle. Of course that's not the safest thing I can think of but there is some small like mini bike or snow machine fuel cells that are small compact and don't look bad... I can't imagine eating anything more than a half gallon...

Even something like this and I could even make some more fittings on top of it for a breather and a return line? It doesn't look like the feed line is very big but I'm thinking that there isn't going to be that much fuel going in there with those small jets for a hundred to even a 200 shot.
There's even some nicely made smaller aluminum ones as well... But I think even the one gallon aluminum ones are kind of Big..

Also I think this is the hot ticket for what I need for timing retard especially to piggyback onto what I already have..
I just haven't seen if it interrupts with my two-step or not?..

About as much as you. what do you want me to say. I'm certainly not a nitrous guru.
I'm following your Demon tuning.
what I would like you to say if you could if you had any other questions for the gurus... Hopefully something I haven't thought of yet scoreposted.. I'm going to be busy tomorrow morning but in the afternoon I'm hoping to get some more tuning on those carbs and definitely Tuesday make a good run at it.. my problem is I cannot get any parts for it locally so everything's 2 days out from Summit..
Ain't nothing happening with these nitrous plates and stuff until I get the carburetors tuned..

Unless something changes you get much tuning time today. The weather isn't cooperating. I hear the snow level is down around 2000 feet.

I talked to my engine builder about the nitrous today and he went on and told me about the stand-alone fuel under the hood and I was telling him that's exactly what I was going to do..

Well after all this research for the last month it's easy to see why people blow up their Motors. And that people say I can just put nitrous on it and do blah blah blah... Without any research they just buy one of these kits and go for it...
And surely you could buy one of those cheap kits and blow up your car if you wanted to.. with the only safety device being a full throttle switch.
But they don't come with is a low fuel pressure cutoff switch, a timing retard box, and stand-alone fuel management.. which includes its own tank, fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel pressure gauge, and the said low pressure cut off switch...
Also on the nitrous side the kits come with extra long line and no Purge kit..
Now I fully realize as everybody has pointed out there's a lot of these things that are not needed for a 100 shot. But as everybody has said once you've tried it you're going to want to do more. With my addictive personality that's a no-brainer.. Preparing for the future is also a no-brainer..
So as a good example how many people here have bought a $500 item and didn't need to spend $300 to get it all hooked up properly LOL.... I don't think I've saved a boatload of money by buying pieces individually, but in the end getting all the different safety mechanisms in place I may have saved myself quite a bit by not risking the big KAPLOOEE!!!
So money-wise and I know that's what everybody thinks about because I do... I'm probably going to be about $900 into my set up and that's before the bottle and bracket. Which that's about $200...
A inexpensive dual-quad nitrous setup with a 10lb bottle is about $840... But of course that doesn't include the six to seven hundred dollars worth the extra stuff to make sure it works safely.... that doesn't include the extra couple hundred dollars for running a dual quad setup...
So in conclusion for a guy with a 4-barrel that's about $900 for extra horsepower at the push of a button "SAFELY"... imo...

Do you have a local place that fills bottles or are you getting a mother bottle. My closest place is I’m guessing around 20 miles.

I figured a grand to get mine setup and thats with one carb. I'm with you on the whole nitrous bashing thing, I just don't get it, Its a power adder like any other one and just like any other it needs the proper parts, knowledge and tune to work and be efficient.
BTW you will need to put your bar back in lol, especially if we all make it to the track together this year, of course there is riverdale :D

Ohhh Boy I must be on ignore. Lol.
Well I can answer it for you lol, we have a bunch of places that fill around here, for me its less than a mile down the road to the closest one. I guess its due to all the imports in this god forsaken California north (used to be a great place), but the positive is at least they made it easy to get a nitrous fill up!

A little late to the party. I got to page four and my eyes started crossing. I would like to weigh in on a previous A body setup (65 lemans) 455 with a doug nash 4+1. A little 150 shot with retard box that pulled 2* for every 50 HP NO2 (so 6*). Ran a separate fuel system and found that running 92 in the car and 110 sunoco in the NO2 system gave me my best hit. Bottle warmer is a must for consistent bottle temp. I did not hit the button below 3000RPM. 3200# Ran best of 11.07 @ 122.

Sorry for any redundancies.

No problem my parties are big and long please chime in with any ideas or concerns....

I got the nitrous plates today and sure enough Summit had given me the wrong AN size.. :BangHead:... so all the fittings and everything that I ordered are all the wrong size and are going to get sent back tomorrow. I called and asked what size they are and they said they'll have somebody pull a box and call me back tomorrow which was a week ago. They said 4 AN.. I noticed one box had been opened and inside the Box the ends of the hoses were cut out of the vacuum sealed and taped back in. It was obviously the box that they had opened up to verify. And also obviously they just took a guess at it and didn't fit a actual fitting over it or take a measurement...
I basically called them and told them they shot themselves in the foot...
