Transmission Blankets - whatcha use??

I used a RCI one on a BB 727 in my duster. So not apples to apples, but it wrapped around the trans like it should. Only issue was having it not interfere with the shifter cable. Had to made a little bracket to keep it off of it. I ended up buying a CSR sheild. Eliminated the shifter cable interference, but I had to beat up the firewall/floor pan lip and I also drilled holes to be able to get to the bellhousing bolts easier.

I have W2 TTI 1 7/8" headers on mine and I didn't feel I could run a blanket because the drivers side header is too close to the transmission. I test fit an old blanket and I could just imagine it melting on long drives.

I also ended up with the CSR shield and had to do everything mentioned above. I used a dolly in an air hammer and really had to enlarge the tunnel on the passenger side as well as knock the lip down. I wish I did the bell housing bolt holes in the floor years ago, so much easier now. I need to find a better way to cover them though.
