Convince me to not use this carburetor.

I believe I was reading your posts at slantsix.org. My car is used on the street and I am going to do change over to a 2 barrel, with either Dutra Duals or Clifford Shortys.

Yeah, I have a long running thread on there. I describe my experience with building and racing my '65 Dart that I have owned for 20 years. I have run the Autolite 2100 with a Super Six manifold and the Offenhauser manifold.

At one point I was running the 2100 on the Super Six manifold, along with 2.45 rear end gears, along with a '64 4 Speed, this combo was getting close to 24 mpg. That was a very nice combination. It wasn't quick off the line, but 80 was nice.

A 500 CFM 2 barrel carb is too big for a mild street driven slant six. It has poor low speed driveability, unless you have a high stall converter (or stick shift), and high numerical rear gears. A 500 CFM vacuum secondary 4 bbl would work better. If you want a 2 bbl a Autolite 2100 or Holley 350 would be better. I would be leary of the Chineese copy cat 2100.

My engine was remanufactured and bored over and was rebuilt with stock specifications. It has 2000 miles on it. The ignition distributor is a high performance with a flamethrower coil, it is a high rev 7500 rpm model. I will be installing a new intake, Clifford shorty's, and a carb.

Id run it. I had a new knock off carb on a 20R and it ran like a dream, choke worked and everything. Chinese know carbs, they just dont know how to knock exterior flash off castings......
