Drag Truck is heading in the right direction. Short update video. Remember, 2.71 gears and 31 x 10.5 tires :D :D

Next up will be getting license plates and getting it weighed this week. Then a "run for fun" against my '01 Ram.

2.71s with a 31 inch tire makes for one kick *** SLR! Lol! Have fun with it!

Nice job least there spinning now haha. That's a good looking truck. I wish I could find one that solid! Cant wait for the next video

I’ll be curious to see how it does against what my old 75 Fury wagon ran(17.80’s).

It was 30 years ago that I had that car, so the memories are a little hazy...... but I don’t think you could power brake it to spin the tire.
Not much power and lotsa weight on the rear.

My 93 Dakota sport 3.9, 5speed was 1.5 seconds quicker.

My 85 318 ram wouldnt spin the tires in its later life. When I first got it i could melt them by power braking it but it lost alot of power towards the end. Knowing what I know now it was probably carb and tune related.

old 73 D250,360 2-bbl.,auto and 4.10 open Dana with 9.75 X 16.5 would "erp" off the line to a blazing 17.05 at 79.95. Had dual exhaust with 70 340 manifolds. would never hit 80 in the 1/4. after a parts store re-ring and Crane 427/454 hyd cam it would hit 80 shifting into 3rd. never got back to the track. truck weighed 4500 lbs with me in it.

I love this stuff.....
my '01 Ram 2500 360 2wd ran 16.7's consistently. We are going to race the Drag Truck against that for a starting point. I'm sure the Ram will win, but at least we'll have a reference point.

For the short term, I can get smaller tires than the 31" tire size to help the 2.71 gears... lol

whatever I get for free... LOL. 235/70? 245/60? anything of that sort will shrink the tire size about 3". But, ya never know, might find the rear end that will work for the entire project tomorrow. ya just never know....

I thought the initial runs down the track were going to be pretty much “as delivered”.
We were, but we thought for starters we'd just run it against vehicles that we've raced at the track for a couple of reasons.
1.) time restraint. Track doesn't open till April 11th, weather permitted. This could put the project on hold for 2 months.
2.) money. It takes about 50 bucks for gas, entry fee, and a quick bite. IF we take it down there for every improvement, we'd spend 600 bucks on just trips to the drag way by July.
