So, what is everyone doing to replicate the 67 style notch rear window? Can I use OG weatherstrip and mod front lock strip to fit contours of rear? Or is the 68/69 trim with clips my only option? I would rather not drill more holes, but if need be. Not that that trim is easy to find anywho. Also don’t want to hack up a few hundred bucks worth of lock strip to find out

Ron I've no experience with notchback, but the oem style on our 67 fastback is rigid as fack. It appears moulded to the shape of front and rear windows. I doubt you could "bend" to make it work.
What do you mean by "OG"?

Original 67 rubbers, mine was mostly chipped in pieces when I got it. I have a set of nos wheel trims I am willing to part with for the 68-69 rear trim. Getting to the last little stuff for the car and it sure is adding up haha

I wasn’t sure if I could somehow manipulate the strip. I’ll gladly eat the cost of the 68-69 just to get it going.

Most 67 owners prefer and desire the 68/9 stainless reveal moldings. So they go ahead and install those clips and 68/9 gaskets, then they wait for the moldings to come to them. The waiting is the hardest part.

The other issue is that even if you were to have all of the correct pieces of trim for the 67 Notchback application, what would you use for a gasket? Steele makes a gasket, but it is the 68 to 69 gasket.

This is a Steele Rubber gasket with their black rubber lock strip. Gets the job done , but doesn't fill the hole as good as a Precision . I think these would be fine with the 68 SS trim. But you can't find the trim anywhere. I have some chrome plastic lock strip and SS corners ,but I don't know what it fits.

Does it feel loose at all Al? I wouldn’t mind doing that until the trim finds it’s way home. I will give them a call tomorrow Steve. Thank you. I’ll keep up my treasure hunt in the mean time. Thanks everyone!

Rubber seal fits tight. Was a pita getting the glass in. I would suggest getting a couple of plastic tapered flat sticks ( install tools) off ebay.

I'm curious... Did you put the glass in bottom first? Did top inside of gasket roll in to lay against the headliner like OEM? I'm not the only one who had a issue there.

Yes , I installed it bottom first, and when finished it did lap over the headliner on the inside. And yes it was a pain it the butt. The rubber was a little short across the bottom, Had to stretch it as I installed it. A second pair of hands will help a lot.

Hey Ron, I'll get a couple pics tomorrow of the Chrome lock strip and corner trim so you can see it and if you think you can use it.
