I’ve been wanting a compressor that can keep up with my tools. Such a pain to have to wait for the compressor to catch up to get any work done. after a ton of research I ended up getting the harbor freight 5hp/60 gallon two-stage compressor. Come to find out it’s not from China. The pump is from Italy and the electric motor is for Mexico. Lots of great reviews.
All of the reviews stated that the last year for the Italian pump and the electric motor for Mexico was 2015. Supposedly in 2016 everything was from China. Not sure if I got one that was missed or if they’re still making them. Either way check them out if you are looking for a compressor.

Strip everything off of your old compressor & plumb the tank to the new one to increase the volume.

X2 I did that a few years ago when my old compressor blew up.

Great deal getting enough air. Just flat out got to have good air to get good work done. Glad you made the jump to the new compressor.

You think maybe you could post a picture or a model number or brand or somethin?

I need this.
Another example of my stupidity, hating my compressor when using certain tools, knowing the solution and completely forgetting about it once I leave the garage.

Guess I haven't priced compressors for a while but a small investment for an absolute necessity in any decent shop.

I apologize, I didn’t have a picture when I posted but that is it. THE KEY IS TO LOOK AT THE ELECTRIC MOTOR AND MAKE SURE IT SAYS MADE IN MEXICO AND THE BACK OF THE PUMP SHOULD SAY ITALY.

Yeo air tools, especially straight line files, DA's, takes a lot of air, an top coats take goof consistant air and No heat and moisture. If you have that smaller compressor and tank, if the compressor and motor are adequate, I would look at hooking into another tank like 60-80 gal??
