That's cool you found the cards. I assume you have at least one saved elsewhere. I just came across a couple of my dad's I had forgotten about.
The rolled material came from where the arrow points. Maybe stuffed there to reduce the chance of wires rubbing against the expanded sheet metal?
Was that harness originally wrapped in tape?
