I picked up this shifter about 2 years ago for my Dart pretty cheap and never got around to installing it because the bench seat was in the way... I think it will be coming out soon so I want some inspiration of how to mount it/route cables/where to mount it etc... I can't seem to find too many pics.
Also, does anyone have any info on this shifter? I don't see it on the B&M site and the guy told me it had been buried for who knows how many years. To my understanding, I can install this one with the stock valve body in my 727 correct?

Looks like a normal pattern to me, because of the park position being all the way forward and 1st being at the back. (should be right for a normal pattern VB)
I have the Hurst Promatic that uses up and down movements of the stick to get passed the lockouts where yours has the handle.

One thing that is important is to set the shifter in the car and find where you like it to be.
I like to close my eyes and reach down for a shifter and have it be where I feel it should be, then mount it there.

If you don't have the cable for it B&M usually uses the same cable for multiple shifters, so that part might not be a big deal.
I actually used a B&M cable on my Hurst shifter because it fit the cable routing better for my car than the Hurst cable.

You might run across issue's with the trans lever not being the right geometry, because most aftermarkets come with their own specific levers.
Lever geometry has to be spot on or you'll play hell getting the indicator on the shifter to line up with where the lever on the trans is for each gear.
You really don't want to have the shifter say you are in D when the trans is actually half way between 2nd and D, or D and neutral for example.

When installing a cable you have to put a hole in the hump for it, and it's a good idea to use a cable as short as possible.
Nice sweeping curves turning as little corners as possible is a good thing also.

Hope this gives you some food for thought.

Have a slightly crash damaged 70-74 E/ 71 up B body console and a Promatic 2. Thankfully only the front is damaged and is the part that has to be cut back to shorten it to make it A body friendly. Planning on the Promatic 2 cover along with a DMT carbon fiber overlay and some low back buckets. Mocking it up, it looks really good with the Hurst handle and cover on it.

Turbo Action Cheetah. Its raised up in an ugly fashion but you can't see it from this angle lol. I need to weld in a tube and plate to properly raise it up, some day maybe......

I switched to a newer 904 a few years back to get rid of two cable shift system in my 65 Dart. I went with a Promatic 2 and did some remodeling to make it fit in my factory floor console. It works well for me and looks good.

Mile High, what diameter are your drink holders and where did you find them?

Tim

Don't remember where I got them for sure. I think it was Cabela's or Basspro shops, they are boat cup holders. They are 2-3/4" inside, and at the widest part of the lip around the top they are 3-3/8"

If you just google "stainless steel cup holders" you'll have tons of choices.

How come no one seems to quote when asking a question?
He may never see your question if you don't quote him or do @MileHighDart

And either tagging someone or replying to a post will notify the person that they have been replied to or have been tagged.
Just writing another post after someone elses does not let them know anything is new and the person may never see it.

Thanks rocco.
