Red Headed Stepchild-75 Swinger LSX Swap

I got the 8 holes drilled on the sides of the hood today to latch it down. I still have two more to go on the front, about 12 inches off centerline. But the remaining 6 push lock pins will be here tomorrow. I like how they lock solid and a small and streamlined enough it wont be one of those awkward large set of hood pins.

Also noticed a leak at my steam vent crossover tube. ordered a new ICT billet one as i'm assuming the stock one is leaking because it was bent to clear the motor plate, and cracked while bending.

I'm not a huge fan of the dome shape to the hood, but that is one really nice build. I can't wait to see some track numbers!! Keep it up man!

Cant wait to get it back from chassis and get there, trust me.

hoping to make it to Carlise with it this year.
 
Well I finished up the hood today. all the push lock pins are installed, and I got the steam vent crossover replaced after the stock one was leaking. Went to fire it up and my battery only had 9V. So apparently I forgot to charge it after we made it home from NC in December.

But I did get a new base tune loaded up while I was charging the battery, so the first startup on the new motor should be tomorrow with a video.

Seems to me the same style comes up for both. If you dont like the build or the thread soend you time admiring others and leave mine to those who appreciate it.

I get a kick out of how the Hemi is SO ******* EXPENSIVE to build. The LS is SO ******* CHEAP to build. Then it's not even apples to apples because they turn around and spend real cash on the LS. I guess it is what it is. The car does look good. And the owner has put in work. To each their own. But from here out, apples to apples. Spend the same, or even less, on the Hemi. Still go fast. To argue is futile. Carry on. Be safe.

Guess I did twist his nipples a little bit.

Build a gen iii hemi, and mopar trans ready for 1200hp for what I've built my ls for and let's compare costs.

I'll wait.

Or you can just line up with me in your built gen iii hemi and we can go. Until then, go visit another build page.
 
I dig the build, there's nothing wrong with chevy or even ford.....I dig it as long as it bad *** and American.

Man...I don't get people some times.....

I had to look it up, I left constructive criticism in post 355 and 774
My point is, I'm not just hear to piss in your wheaties, (I think the car in general is pretty cool) but I do think you should have a little tougher skin when dealing with people who have a different sense of humor then you...because that's all that post 827 was, I thought it was funny that you put that hood on there, it seemed to match the engine

My skin is plenty thick enough. I'm of the mindset if you dont like soemthing, it's the internet, go look at soemthing else. All those kind of comments passed long ago when the bitter ol purists realised this car wasnt going anywhere, and it was gon a happen. Not only that but was going to be clean, fast and a handful at the track.

There are just so many moparians with their heads stuck in the mud its astonishing.

I figured this hoid would be the straw that broke the camel's back. But i love the style, and my Dart.

I imagine if we were all standing around the garage having a cold one of choice.....we would all just have a good laugh and keep BSin one another. IMHO, this site is different from bookface / facebook......here, we are mostly Mopar rod rodders....just havin fun....as usual!

I know we would be denny. I've had people walk away the second they saw the license plate or rear quarter. But by the time we got done talking and hanging out they loved it.

Seems to be an internet thing like you said.
 
Shes Alive!!! Again. Lol

Ran for 10 mins and changed the oil and fired her back up. Here is a short idle video as she was warming back up.

Ignore the exhaust. It was a temporary thing so I could keep the O2 sensors reading accurately and the holley engine management could control everything alot easier.

Just needed it driveable to get on the trailer tomorrow night and be dropped off at chassis Saturday.
