Protrans pro brake 7.0 index

Not disagreeing or agreeing, Just asking for some kind of comparison. I have a local friend who attends the Mopar weekend at Norwalk every year. He has won the Ten grand Nationals and runner end up another time. His car has run 8:60,s consistently at 155 mph.
3 speed aluminum 727 torque flight in a Daytona. Never breaks.
800 plus horsepower Indy headed big block. Maybe the turbo 400 is stronger,
But I have another friend who used run 10.00 in a Gto and used to fail the sprag repeatedly till we learned to do the burnout in 3rd gear lol. But the torque flight is plenty strong enough.imho
My buddies Daytona most years runs in big dog class and is usually the only torqueflite out there. You gotta be good to beat him. Rick Allison tried to hire him years ago as he does his own builds.

I ran 8.40@160mph in my Daytona with a powerglide but what does that prove. Two lightweight low horsepower combos. The turbo 400’s are popular with the high and I mean high horsepower small tire power adder guys. SFI cases are available for both powerglides and 400’s. More gear choices at cheaper prices. I think Cope finally released a second gear leave valve body for a 727 but I’m betting it is 2-3 times more than one for a 400 turbo.
