I ran a stock 1.76 in my Daytona. Not real quick in the 60 foots average around a 1.21 but the only aftermarket part in my transmission was a transbrake valve body. It cost 100-150.00 to rebuild my transmissions. lol
If you think about it, even a turbo 400 or a 727 is probably overkill for say a 10 second car. Protrans puts 904 internals in the 727.
I've heard they are developing with ati a turbo 350 that also will use 904 parts.
