Because despite the fact that Covid-19 is virulent and easily communicable, the danger is relatively low. Only elderly, respiratory, or immune-compromised people are in any danger. The media had over-fueled this issue like a Dominator carb on a 273.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

What makes you say that?

Because this flu is no more or no less more contagious or lethal than last year's flu.

It's ignorant. The numbers don't add up. People get this flu and barely have any effects. Some get sicker. Some don't even know they have it.

It goes after older folks just like every other flu. And just like every new stain of flu, there is no vaccination for it, just like every year. The shot you get this year is for last year's flu.

It's all bullshit. I am immune compromised and I'm not doing a thing to avoid this. It is what it is and it's no different than any other year.

You may ask, how do I know. My rheumatologist is hot on this crap every single year, because his patients (like me) are in a postition to be put down by this. His words were "same as last year" and "avoid it if you can, but don't live in a cave".

And I got the flu last year. It was a two week miserable *****. No different this year.

It's just the deep state forcing a panic on the stupid goy.

lol you may be right. With the NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, Formula 1, and NHRA walking away from millions of dollars I have to wonder what these guys know that we don’t. That is a big choice to make and I doubt they are doing that unless this thing is worse than the normal flu.

I suggest it may be lawsuits. Someone goes to an event and gets this crap and dies. There are legions of money hungry lawyers to exploit that.

Or...you can fill in the rest.

I’m 64, had a heart attack, and probably in the worse shape of my life with a few other issues going on. With that said I will try my hardest to avoid big crowds. Being a Millwright for 33 years washing your hands 100 times a day is nothing new to me and a way of life. I started forming a habit of wiping down my grocery cart a couple years ago from things I saw on Facebook. I kicked around going to the St Patrick’s Day race at Virginia but glad I didn’t. The East and West coastal areas are seeing the worst of this right now and the weather is shaky this time Of year.

Maybe but something tells me it is more serious than the regular flu though. No I’m not watching the news or listening to talk radio all day. I know better than that. I just know that it is a very young virus that is spreading very quickly and is causing serious problems for Italy.

Also this one hasn’t killed as many as the flu obviously but it does seem to be more lethal just by looking at the numbers. That will go down drastically once they figure things out.

My son is dating a girl from Italy who is here as a student. Probably going to stay for college.

Her dad has it. Says it's just a nasty flu.

FWIW she is a smart kid and very fun to hang with. We took them bowling and to dinner last Saturday night. She is much more personable than his last GF. She is from the Milan area.

YR beat me to it, legal liability worry. That with out of control Social media helping work everyone up into a frantic lather along with the dumbing down of society.......yeah I need to be told by tv news anchors and government officials to wash my hands and cover my mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing....and bring a coat or umbrella today cause it may be cold and rainy. I don’t participate in the frenzy, worry or panic. And I’ve never had a flu shot in my life. Who’s with me?? Let’s gooooooo!!!

I have no doubt the coasts will get it worse. At least for the time being. That's where all the overseas travelers come in.

I'm always careful around this time of year. No sense explosing myself to unnecessary sickness. Sometimes, you just don't know and get doinked by the crap. I got it last year from my mom, who didn't know she had it until it was too late. I passed it on to my cousin. Then the wife. It was a dandy for sure.

Put my mom in the hospital. Twice. I think she picked it up at a casino. She has been told by both my brother and myself to stay the hell out of those places until this clears up. She could end up being a statistic.

We told her the same last year, but her Irish/Scot genetics makes her as stubborn as an army mule.

I’m not afraid to get shots but I don’t believe in getting them. I never had a flu shot except for the one we were forced to get by the Government many many years ago. My friends that get yearly shots get sick every year.

My mom is a wop so I know how Italian women are haha her family is from a town north of Milan. They have seen 800+ deaths from this in less than a month. I think their fatality rate is higher than China right now and somewhere around 4%. The flu is typically at less than 1%. Im sure things will calm down but people certainly need to be cautious about it and avoid big crowds in areas the virus is confirmed.

Yup...I don't get them either. It's for sure I get sick.

That’s just nuts. Everybody knows nitro fumes kill corona virus.

FWIW, the coasts are where most of the liberals are in this country. I say, 'If it's BROWN, flush it down'!

Just don'f eff up my retirement account.

Do I get a flu shot each year? Yes I do. Have I ever gotten the flu from the flu shot? No! Its a dead virus folks, designed to build up your immunities.

Have I used the flu mist? Yes. Which by the way is a live virus and I did happen to get a mild dose of the flu from.

Am I comcerned about this new coronavirus? Yes, but I still go out in public. I just try to be mindful, wash my hands regularly and stay away from as many little window lickers as possible. Not that the little tykes are any more carriers than adults could be, but their fingers are usually in their nose more than not and that's just gross. Especially when you think that they were possibly sitting in that shopping cart you're pushing.

Sorry about the Gator Nats being cancelled, I know a lot of folks look forward to those events, but, unfortunately its the world we live in, so we need to take a deep breath and let the knot in our underwear unwind a bit.

I look at it as all hype. Still shake hands and hugs, no elbow bumps. I believe it's been blown out of proportion.
I've gotten the flu shot each year for over 20 years. Not sick at all. Maybe a few coughs, a sniffle or two from being out and getting wet. My wife didn't believe in flu shots, sick every year. About 5 yrs. ago she got her first, didn't get sick and has been getting one every year since. Soon be 67, and I'm not getting excited about it. I also believe in the 5 sec. rule, usually doesn't matter where I'm at. Been that way as a kid. Remember on a dare, eating dirt, earth worms, ants and other than maybe vomiting late you didn't get sick. I figure when it's time to get your ticket punched, it doesn't matter where or what, times up.
Who remembers going in the late 50's early 60's, for the polio vaccine? Drinking it in a little plastic cup and then a lump of sugar afterwards.

You may be correct about it being blown out of proportion but if you believe in the 5 second rule you may want to reconsider that one. I say it ironically all the time when I pick something up and pop it in my mouth but it really has no factual basis.

True, but we all know what I was implying. If you are healthy, take care of your self and watch out for things as in your every day life, I don't feel it will be any worse than another flu or cold. If I should happen to contact it( feel certain to beat it), I'll let all know.

We do a 5 minute meet n greet during our Sunday Church service which we didn't do last week. Lots of hugging and shaking hands. We did have our weekly Communion which I see changing very soon on its procedure.

have two friends there that were notified today that its shut down. have a friend on his way to a big show in ohio and got notified halfway out that it was canceled....

this **** should have been done days ago. idiots in this country ore so damn slow to react to this ****.

and its only an over reaction if it doesn't effect you or your family.

its funny as hell. the same people who say its stupid now would be on the war path if a family member died from it because a big event or school...etc. wasn't shut down and someone came home with it.. ******* monday morning quarterbacks...
