I have been looking for decals or custom tins to put on my 408 stroker air cleaner. I have seen them in the past, but whoever made them can't be found. So, I played around last night with my photoshop program, and used a mix of 383 Magnum tin with one from a 340. It's a first try, but thoughts on the results. If I can get this dialed in, I might have one for the online decal places make one for me.

That's very nice. Don't stop there, you might be getting orders from others who would like a little custom look! Steve.

I'm digging that

Food for thought.... if you can get the font right, keep them guess how big it really is and have it read

Stroked
360

How user friendly is your Photoshop? Could you reverse the orange and black easily? Black main color with orange trim.
If you get a quote on this, you may wanna put out an inquiry to see if more members want in. Then the price may be lower. Unless you just wanna have a one-off decal on your car only, that's ok too. Not trying to invite myself and a bunch of others to your party.

I'll have to play with it to see if I can do the black. As far as selling these, I would not mind doing it, the reason I am looking into it is because no one is making what I want, so if others could use it, I would be glad to share. I would want to make a couple up first just to make sure they work.

Hi, I have made up 408 decals and sold them on this website. If you want to buy one PM me.

Thanks for the offer, but I really want something that works for the older style pie tin. Plus, since mine is a Magnum based stroker, I want the Magnum included as part of the decal.

How about a tower of power decal maybe 225 4 barrel, or something like that?

If you do go through with it, let us know where you got one made. I've been wanting a pie tin decal but in a different color than orange. That looks awesome though, and would be very unique. Go through with it!

I think a 225 four barrel in a round variety would look really great on a chrome air cleaner. I purchased a reproduction chrome air cleaner which is almost exact to the 273 chrome commando cleaner. I am sure someone could make one.

Do you have the dimensions for the 408 round decal? I believe the diameter is all I need to order a custom 4 barrel decal. Or I can just measure my air cleaner. I am considering 225 on top and maybe Dart GT or 4 barrel on the bottom.

You running a Dodge?

Yes, I have a 64 Dart GT, and since I will be installing a 4 barrel, I purchased a new chrome reproduction air cleaner which looks almost perfect to the stock 273 V8 air cleaner. I thought this would be a nice custom touch for the engine bay. Also I found these on ebay, they are metal stamped mopar sheets. MoPar 383 FOUR BARREL Cuda Dodge Dart Plymouth PIE TIN FLAT | eBay
The question was for the OP but that's ok. Pie tins won't work on 273 air cleaners. They are much too big. You will need to reproduce the Charger/ Commando sticker used on the HP 273 air cleaners. Let me find you a picture.

Notice how that's made. It has to be that way to lay flat on the conical surface. Even a decal needs to take the conical 3D shape into account. If you just measure, and make a ring to fit, it won't. (Unless your air cleaner is flat) You need to project the conical shape onto a flat surface. Someone that does sheetmetal duct work will know how it is done. Some good CAD programs can do it too.

Thank you, I am happy I threw my idea out there.

And they are a real turd to install correctly. If you need one, buy 2 or 3. You may use them all. LOL
