That's it I am going out to stand by my curb. You have me pacing now. Isn't it like Christmas when stuff comes in. Especially when it comes out of the wife's bank account.
Haha. It felt like Christmas for sure! Different layers of plastic wrap and cardboard just to build more suspense. Ha

Y'all better be careful around those AMD parts. This ad just popped up on my screen. Thank goodness I saw it in time.

Interesting.
All of this discussion and frenzy about the discontinued panels at half price makes me wonder...........
Is AMD actually going to discontinue ALL of the marked down panels forever?
My thought is that they are gauging the marketplace for the people that actually want the panels but can't afford them at the current full prices.
Furthermore, the market is driven by supply and demand.
Threaten to discontinue the panels and you create a buying frenzy like what is happening now, and it helps them clear out their warehouse just as they are building a new one. Smart move on their part.
Nice marketing tactic on their part I must say...........
I realize that they do need to focus on what parts move faster than others, (or barely at all) but if they didn't have a market for the parts, then why did they develop them in the first place?
Speculation?
Or real world studies about the demands of the marketplace?
Remember guys, they have the tooling and the means to make the parts whenever they choose to, so I think that this isn't the last kick at the cat so to speak.
I'm by no means a conspiracy theorist, but it makes you wonder what's REALLY going on in the background here........
Tariffs?
Nah, It's a white wash on that because if that was the case, that would affect every part they sell, not just the slower moving ones.
I still think it's a marketing study that's driving this and a chance to clean the house a bit and regroup a bit..........
My main tip off for this is that they are following through with the production af the '66 and '67 B-Body quarters and the '73 to '74 Charger quarters.
They won't sell a boatload of them at all, I just don't see it.
It ain't over 'till it's over from my perspective...........
JMHO, for what it's worth!

And you are supposed to inspect any for any suspected damage before you sign the delivery receipt. That may take a while.

I Disagree, We have bought 14,000 of AMD stuff this year already. Mike at AMD (I can go into this long story but no need to) if its not selling they are discontinuing the parts plain and simple. Because if it was Tariffs They would be stopping a lot more parts. They are all about the Truck stuff right now, that stuff is selling like hot cakes. If you have projects in the future I would try to buy your stuff as soon as possible.
Just purchased every part from them that I didn't have in NOS except they didn't have my RH quarter panel for my '69 so I'll have to wait to find one. Rob at the AMD install shop saved me about $400.

Businessman, which you rather do: sell 1 part and make $1000 profit, OR have to sell 10 of them to make that same $1000 profit???
Good point, but wait until the hoarders start selling. I can't imagine what they'll want for a RH quarter panel that I'm looking for.

My take is if they priced these parts a little more reasonable, they would sell more. Which way makes them the most profit, I dunno!!

Last partial qrs I bought was back in late 90, for a 69 charger that had to have such. This was before AMD etc, but, banged up, and bad fit. But the car had to have them. I just stopped buying any car that took metal I could not fab.

All depends if that one part is a hard sell. If the 10 are flying off the self. I rather sell the 10. But if equally the same defiantly the one.

Imagine the Parts PANDEMIC for sure, went out and purchased quarter skins from Goodmark for my 67 notch that has a ton of bondo from years of body work. Will store them for the "Retirement " years.

I bought four full e-body 1/4 panels and they came stacked on end like that, on a pallet, shrink wrapped together.
Packaged very well.

Had it shipped to work.
Super easy off the truck dock.
The guys at work just used a fork truck and put the pallet in the bed of my truck.
Plus shipping was a little cheaper to a truck dock.

All this sorta like the empty shelves of toilet paper at WallyWorld yesterday. lol
All this proves the first thing a guy should buy when he buys a project, is get the available sheet metal, NOT fancy wheels and new tires!!???????

Ya buy what your going to need, makes sense to me

I was going to get a carb and intake but when I heard that were not going to carry the parts I was going to need my priority changed. I always thought some of their parts were expensive What are the parts that AMD actually stamps themselves?

I got my 69 Dart quarter skins yesterday one had a huge dent in passenger so I sent that back. Kept the drivers, luckily they have few left in stock.

I received my AMD shipment today as well. Two 68 Barracuda full quarters, two 68 Dart quarter skins, and an A body rear cross member (shock mount). I had ordered 68 Barracuda splash shields as well. They showed "in stock" when I ordered, but they were gone by the time they shipped my order. Guess I won't be seeing those back orders.
