This is what REALLY scares me, I see how irrationally allot of people have responded to this and I told my wife if something serious happens we are in deep trouble.I get the feeling this country will really unravel with a real crisis.
Wow what a good read.
Are these International numbers or United States?
If you spread them cheeks wide while taking care of bidness it is possible to make a clean download and not even need to wipe. I like that method better than Sheryl Crows one square method.....works great out in the wilderness camping/hiking at leastI have a virus that is causing me to poop 8-10 times a day. The people working their butt off to make sure I can find toilet paper are hero’s to me.
The impact of this virus is going to be astronomical, between the loss of income for all of the support staff at all of these events and leagues being postponed or cancelled, the financial losses from the stock market turbulence, income lost by those who are affected or have family members fall ill and have to miss work for 2 weeks or more, and the obvious loss of lives. I expect it will take years before the true costs may be known, if ever.
What I need is a doctor that can tell me what is wrong with me!
Down south people here stock up on milk and bread at the mere mention of snow, cause apparently they drink and eat it more simply because the meteorologists said......”SNOW!!!!” Actually it’s just an ingrained action from way back in the dirt road days where getting out was more treacherous and not possible for many. Now it’s just a reason to stand around clogging up the store aisles and gossiping. Even though the virus is respiratory, the waste treatment facilities will be begging people to ease up on the waste in the pipes, it’ll be too much, the system will backup then we’ll have a real **** storm on our hands. We’re doomed!Make no mistake though. There are millions of people working their tails off right now to restock shelves. Grocery store employees are hero’s right now in my area.

this kinda of thing has been going on for decades, its called natural selection...........
I will concede on the exact definition of natural selection but to me it sounded allot better than only the old/weak are dying, I have to much respect for my elders to call them weak. I worry about death less and less the older I get, its simply a waste of time. I can get hit by a bus, die of cancer, get alzheimer's, my wife has serious heath issues but no matter how we go it is inevitable we will all die. I would rather we have the opportunity to live live as we all see fit. Its my opinion that if the government and society targeted those at high risk with education and protection (the latter for those to old to care for themselves) we would be in a much better situation right now. Instead we have grocery store shelves empty, the economy losing millions of dollars a day and the majority don't even know the facts of this virus and how it will affect them. This has been chewing on me for a couple of days.....
You are correct that it is one of the many cases of natural selection though you need to stop and think for a moment...many of the people dying have already made their contribution to the gene pool, not lots of 60 year old new Mom's, nor 60 year old new Dad's; so there is nothing in the realm of natural selection going on here, just people dying.
It also raises the question of how would you feel about being "selected" out? It's a possibility, just gotta hope you are genetically fit!
Agree 100% . I'm 75 years old with asthma . I've had pneumonia twice . Second time was aweful . If I get infected with the virus I'm done . People who only care about themselves think it's trash . No one needs asthma , bronchitis , c.o.p.d., flu or pneumonia . Breathing is fundamental .I’m 64, had a heart attack, and probably in the worse shape of my life with a few other issues going on. With that said I will try my hardest to avoid big crowds. Being a Millwright for 33 years washing your hands 100 times a day is nothing new to me and a way of life. I started forming a habit of wiping down my grocery cart a couple years ago from things I saw on Facebook. I kicked around going to the St Patrick’s Day race at Virginia but glad I didn’t. The East and West coastal areas are seeing the worst of this right now and the weather is shaky this time Of year.
Adolph Hitler said the same thing .This has been chewing on me for a couple of days.....

i'm concerned about that too , but , smaller tracks can cut back some to lessen expenses . Bracket programs will continue because there isn't much spectator support . Some other events can be spread out so that crowds can have more space . IMOReferring back to the cancellations, my biggest worry is how this could affect all the smaller tracks in the country- the ones that are already struggling to stay afloat. With so many closures recently, this could be the death knell for many more if this drags on for a considerable amount of time. And I'm not just talking drag strips, think of all the dirt and asphalt ovals and Kart tracks out there... this is not good on many levels.
The problem I have is I don't want to be infected by an asshat who doesn't care . Calm down , this won't last forever . WE can kick this in the *** if we work at it and we can going backt o normalOnce this gets out of hand at least we know who wasn’t taking it seriously.
worldwide ? THAtells me we are doing something positive

Let me know in November when the economy really shows what has happened if you feel the same way.
This flu is no more contagious, no more lethal and no more serious than last year's flu, or any of the other flu strains we've had in the last 20 years. So why all this silly scare mongering?
This is just senseless and stupid. If you don't want to get sick, protect yourself. I have to. I'm betting my immune system is at least as compromised as anyone else on here. So I won't be going to concerts or things like that. But to shut down virtually everything is absolutely ignorant.
My kids girlfriend is from Italy. Her dad HAD the flu. Took 3 days and he was over it. They were miserable, but he said no worse than any other flu he has had.
Italy has a population (native population that is) that isn't even reproducing at replacement rates. Two world wars bled them white. Much like France. So, they are an older population. And, thanks to socialized health care, they have had issues. That has no bearing on what happens here.
This idea that the government must do for people what they can do for themselves is nothing less than tyranny. You shouldn't need the government to tell you to stay away from large crowds if the flu is out there.
It is rediculous.
Much like the bird flu, SARS, H1N1 and the stupid Y2K horse crap that was being hype up back then, this too will be a minor inconvenience made much more devastating by the government getting way out of its lane.
BTW, is it not strange that the democrats and the media hate the guts of "big pharma" and constantly threaten them with price controls and every other draconian measure the Marxist mind can envision, and yet, the US government just gave these criminals and pharmaceutical degenerates a check for EIGHT POINT FIVE BILLION DOLLARS? That doesn't seem strange to anyone?
It's called a payola. Or, if you like George Washington Plunkett, you can call it what he did..."honest graft". That's all that was. A payola to big pharma.
All just stupid, silly little measures that in the end, will do little to make anything better.
Yellow rose there isn’t much we disagree on but this may be one. I will say that I do agree that it is sad how willing people are to give up their freedom over this. However it is much more lethal than the normal flu. I believe it is nearly 10 times more lethal actually. Last I heard Italy had over 350 deaths from this virus in the last 24 hours. Yes the age of the population plays a huge toll in it but it is still nothing to ignore. We still had church this morning and I still had Sunday lunch with my relatives but I am defiantly thinking twice now about where I travel and if it is worth the risk. I’m personally not concerned about getting it. I think I could handle it pretty well. But I am worried about being a carrier and giving it to my parents or grandmother who would likely not survive it. You are free to believe and act how you want but if you are going to be spending time around someone you love that is in poor health it is something to consider.
