72 dart ash tray/lighter aluminum Holder HELP

Ash tray aluminum holder. Recommendations on better cleaning or should I paint it?
I have soaked in White Vinegar/Water for 30 hours. Wire Brush and 000 steel wool.
I would appreciate any recommendations or possible solutions.

I painted mine with a metallic spray. Not chrome.

Thanks, they were in good shape before, I made them a little better, I am getting the matching ashtrays powdercoated right now as well. Are you in a rush? Lemme get the ashtrays back from powdercoater if that's ok?

Those look really nice. How do you attach them back to the ashtray door? Pop rivets?

Thanks the piece pictured are held to dash by 4 screws.
Heres pic with my refurb dash.

My bad. I was thinking the ashtray itself was being restored. Looks like yours is painted black. Either way it looks great!
