I drove a 2008 Dodge Avenger for years as my commuter and go everywhere car. I recently put it out to pasture after approximately 300,000 miles as it was hanging by a thread. I decided I wanted a slight upgrade to the Avenger - something I would enjoy but that I can use for anything from family vacations to commuting to work. This will also soon replace a Chrysler minivan that we have had for about 15 years. Went with this 2018 Dodge Durango GT. It has relatively high miles, but is otherwise in great shape. I am partial to the white and black as it matches a 2018 T/A Challenger that I also have. This has the Blacktop package and Rallye package (which is mainly just the performance hood). It is an incredibly fun and smooth car to drive.

nice looking ride
i really wanted one, but it didnt have the trunk space i needed for my whole family (6 total)

I love these things. This one a hemi or a 3.6?

I keep trying to justify it with the wife, but we have a mint jeep commander....and it's basically the same purpose. So it would probably need to go

The GT comes with the V6. I also went with the AWD option since I will be commuting sometimes in bad weather. It's very early, but I don't regret the decision at this point.

I love the ones that look like yours, with the performance hood. I would have to have the hemi just in case I had to pull the racecar trailer, but yeah, I love these things. They are really cool looking, and I love the size.

I just got my wife a 2016 Durango HEMI R/T, under 50K miles, sliver/black out package. Sweet SUV ride.

I seriously considered the R/T with the 5.7 Hemi, but I was perfectly happy with everything I got out of this GT, including all of the interior features. And the price was just that much better than going with the R/T Hemi model. But it was hard to pass up on the Hemi. Thankfully this one is not meant for going anywhere in a hurry.

You're right that the 3.6 is probably plenty adequate. I know that's a good engine. The muscle head in me, gravitates to the hemis. But for a daily I'm sure the pentastar is great.

“In a hurry.” LOL! I hear ya there. And that’s why the wife choose the HEMI.

It was to sedate in the Challenger I had.
A torque less wonder.

Yea our Virginia weather is very unpredictable. Nice ride man I like it alot!

To be clear, I have a T/A 392 in the garage behind that GT that will get me anywhere "plenty fast."
:poke:Oh your just bragging!!!

The wife and I test drove the 2019 SRT.
Wooooooooooooo!!!!!
A bit much for our wallets at the moment.
But man can that get up and go. WOW! :steering:

When I bought my Hemi Express the dealer had an SRT on the showroom floor. I was literally waiting on them to finish their paperwork on the truck. "Can I test drive that SRT?" "Only if you're buying it" :BangHead:

Last year of the 5 speed I think... 1st Gen.

I gotta tell ya honestly, once you on the Hwy. cruising, mashing the go pedal had a good response and decent acceleration. I wasn’t unhappy with it. It wasn’t a hairy rush of acceleration but it was respectable for sure.
Off the line, yuk! I can see where the 8 spd would be a plus.

Cool, I’d love to get one but I bought this instead, not very practical but it’s fun! I’ll have to drive my 2007 Durango a little longer now I guess lol

Cool ride!!

If ya hear ticking, some rockers will need to be replaced. Not a hard job, just takes some time.
