Looking for the two bearing housing bolts/nuts. Rebuilding my steering column and there was nothing there!
I stole these photos from an old post, but there perfect for reference

Those bolts are for a 68 or newer column. The 67 column has a set screw to retain the lower collar
and the upper collar is attached to the tube with Phillips head screws and square nuts That grab the slots in the tube.

Here’s a pic of the hole in the lower column to access
the set screw.

If my memory serves, the threaded hole in those nuts is off centered. A common hardware store square nut wont work. Did a floor shift column require these parts? I forget.
Good hunting

Cudascott you're referencing a 1967 FSM aren't you? It still shows that nut and bolt in the 1967 FSM I downloaded online. The bearing housing in the drawing doesn't look like mine though. I think I have a mixture of steering column parts as my Dart is a 69 with a floor shifter. I found out I had a 67 column when I bought the wrong lower column bearing.

Also here's pictures of my actual collar and bearing housing. The Allen screw was already broke in my collar when I was disassembling so I pressed what I guess would be called the shift tube off the collar even though there are no shift levers on mine.

Yea I have a 67’ service manual for reference and the one in the drawing is a column shift auto. I will get out to the shop this evening and look at a floor shift 67’ column and report back here.

Yes I suppose the column and floor shift bearing housing would be different. They didn’t have any good images of the floor shift column in the fsm

Your for sure gonna need the square nuts and Phillips head screws. If you look closely at the holes in the collar that retains the bearing if you tried using the
newer bolts you will not have enough clearance around the nut to tighten it.

I had the same problem recently. Definitely need the 1/4-20 square nuts, start the screws and let them pull it together. I have a ton of old hardware kicking around my barn, so when I disassembled I saw a square nut on the floor and couldn’t figure it out til I saw another.
