Where do you find the hold-down tabs for an A Body manual convertible top? Do you have any suggestions on using something different besides a plastic hold-down tab that is subject to breaking?

Thanks,
Anthony

I think Laysons sells these

I here ya. What a rinky dink setup for manual tops...……….

I'll see if I can help. I've had my 65 going on 8 years now and when I got it the previous owner had pieces of wire to hook on top when down :( I also bought the tabs from Laysons and they were worthless. Anyway I came across a post from a guy that used these to fix his. I've had them in for probably 7 years now and no problem, I'm sure at some point they could break but not yet. You'll need to buy two kits because you only need the one piece from each one, got mine at Harbour freight for about 4.99 each (I think). You have to line them up and mark where you need to drill two holes. It takes some in and out to get them right and adjusted correctly. I'd show you with top down but car is on ramps and top won't clear garage opener rod. I hope this helps and least it gives you some options to fix it.

Put car down and dropped top to show how well latches work. You don't see them because boot covers them.
