last weekend I made homemade spaghetti sauce (meat sauce) and 28 meatballs for meatball sandwiches. Today I made my “special concoction” I used to make for the guys in my Millwright shop.

7-8 pounds of hand sliced red skin potatoes, 3 pounds of Hillshire Farms Polska Kielbasa sliced in 1/4 inch slices, 2 white onions sliced, one stick Land Of Lakes butter, Garlic Salt. Cook in over till potatoes and onions are cooked, serve and season (sea salt or more garlic salt). Mmmmm good.

Being a millwright I'm sure you've had some meals made in a welding rod oven. Potatoes were #1. Baked or cubed with onions mostly.

Hot dogs on homemade grill.
Couple old racing wheels welded together.
No hot dog rolls to be found. So some dinner rolls will suffice.
Heat up some canned chili. Mix all together.
Shove in mouth with a fork and enjoy.

Us country boys will survive.
We have the ability to think out side of the "box"

funny, I've had that song stuck in my head since this whole thing started

Smoked a tritip on my Pitbarrel this week .

I’m not a hotdog lover but with that said I still enjoy a few once in awhile. I bought two packs the other day to have fall back stuff in the refrigerator. My son pan fried a couple two nights ago with onions and whatever else he used and the smell had drool coming out of my mouth. Man that smelled good.

Today was the first time this week I have even seen any meat in the cooler at the market I prefer. With the upcoming weather outdoor cooking may be a little soggy.

Smoked the taters , a few steaks and 2 big chicken boobs.... CAME OUT FANTASTIC !
leftovers for lunch till next wednesday !

Made a batch of Puffy Tacos, these are to die for! Used to buy these all the time when I lived in LA near the vendor's stand. Being gone from LA for 35 years, I stumbled into the recipe recently, and it's spot on. A heart attack special that I wouldn't do often, but Oh My God they are good.

Oh yeah, I'm not a millwright but I've been in trucking 40+ years. When I first started, I was WAY broke. All I had was a metal Planter's Peanut can with a plastic lid for a lunchbox. A bottle of water was refilled daily at home. I'd cook up a monster batch of spaghetti, beans, taco mix, whatever, on the weekend. Fill the can with leftovers every day for lunch. When I checked the oil and whatnot on the engine in the morning, I'd put the can full of lunch on the manifold and leave it there. Come lunchtime, pop the hood, retrieve the can, and have a filling hot lunch. Low tech for sure, but it worked and didn't hurt me any.

Cook on the Big Green Egg pretty much daily. Have at least a dozen pork butts that need smoking. Maybe next weekend. Wife has her own BGE for baking things. She has a couple of bananas that are just about right for banana nut bread, sure she will be making it this weekend...

Just basic ole Texas food tonight, steak, baked tater, and tossed green salad, with some good Ken's dressing. OK, so maybe the wife will not toss the salad any!?? dunno
Been eating on ham all week, ready for BEEF!!

Had to look up what the BGE was.
Holy damn. They are right here in Charlotte !

Gotta check them out.

It's cold in Michigan this weekend. I'm going to make some venison chili, I think and just chill with the family.

Pasta e Fagioli ........ OK, that's one of the ways to spell it, .. before some asshole wants to correct it. My father called it peasant food. He loved to make it, and I loved to eat it. I'm a bit messy when I cook, but the result is worth my wife cleaning up when I'm done. :)

@pittsburghracer , you get a hero's award for this one. Your concoction looked so good I stopped at the local market for some potatoes, an onion, and keilbasa. All I did different was brown everything in a big fry pan, add some garlic, deglase the pan with some beer, and put the lid on it for 45 minutes in the oven. It. Was. To. Die. For. Seriously. I'm not a huge eater, but I went back for thirds and almost wiped out the entire batch.
