Has anyone ever built a 318/340/360 to look like a 273??

I did it back in the early 70's, my 273 spun a rod bearing & I got a smoking deal in roll over taxi cab with a 360 & 727 with only 3200 miles on it. A guy I met at the drag strip was the maintenance shop manager for the cab company. It was amazing the difference between a tired 273/904 & a low mileage 360/727.

I’m not telling anybody anything, but the motor going into my 66 is going to look just like a 2 bbl 273!

You can't swap intake manifolds from a 65-66 273 on any other year small block. There's a different degree of angle on the ports unless your changing heads too it won't work.

You are mixing things up a bit. 64 and 65 273 heads have intake bolts that are small, 5 16 using a 1/2 in socket, and at a different angle. 66 up are the same as all LA small blocks. All 273 and 318 ports have the same port opening, except for a few Pursuit 318s made in the 80s?.

OK Thanks for clearing it up I knew from having a 65 273 Commando in 1980 there was a difference that made finding an Edlebrock LD4B? almost impossible.

Another reason this site is the best GOOD ACCURATE INFORMATION ALMOST IMMEDIATELY!!! Thanks
