Carb Spacer help - what's on your intake

No dyno experience here James, just what worked for me on my stock stroke 360. A 1 inch tapered Wilson phenolic resin unit. The cam was a little stouter @ 248@050.

In messing around with spacers, I have noticed that there is most always a good response when the carb butterflies are moved upwards above the intake manifold.

As it is often said, your results may vary. Being you have a stroker, the extra cubes tend to like more plenum.

OH! The best material to use for preventive heat transfer is wood followed by Phenolic Resin.

Getting ready to start another project on my car – installing a 6 pack hood scoop. With my new found space, I am looking to install a 1” carb spacer. Performance gains are always welcome

Setup
408
RPM Airgap with a Holley 850dp
Cam 241/247 @50 with 545 lift
Eddy heads - cleaned up
10 to 1 compression

Currently looking at the jomar 5016-x (phenolic wood) or the Super Sucker SS4150-1AL (aluminum)((very expensive))

There are 1000s to choose from. Is there really a differences between the upmarket Super Sucker or Wilson compared to the Summit or Spectre Performances

What about materials, phenolic, aluminum, plastic or just wood. And don’t forget tapered

Most of the dyno test show very little difference between the 1” and 2”

What is everyone using? Any real world numbers/experience would be appreciated
