with so many uncertainties going into race season with this damn China Virus it’s hard pushing yourself to get mentally to carried away with finishing up projects. I’m doing some head chamber work today and my buddy is coming over at 6:30 tonight to rebuild my sons 727 for his Duster. Many countries around me are going on a stay at home lockdown later tonight. Food, gas, Doctor, and prescription runs only. Those that work at Pa Governor deemed necessary jobs are also allowed out also. My son got laid off from doing fork truck repair last Thursday. Their shop is allowed to stay open but many of the shops he did work at are closed. This really sucks as he was starting to get the shop bug again

Hard to "like" your post so I will just agree. It's a crazy world out there right now. Good thing is that we all have work to keep us busy.

Michigan is now under the same policy for 3 weeks. My youngest son was laid off today also. Fortunately, my oldest son and I are able to work from home. These are scary times, level heads and minimal contact with others are a good idea. 65'

Cops out here are starting to enforce the "shelter in place". I am not technically allowed to go to your house and help you with your car. Roads are deserted. My only motivation is knowing that if we stick this out- there will be an end to it. When it ends, my car will be in better shape because I used my time to work on it.

Well I’m glad I had my buddy got through the transmission. It came with my black Duster when I bought it and had a Cope (crt) 727 in it. Pretty sure it’s been rebuilt at least once before. It had stock clutches in it and a stock band so now it has better clutches and an extra one and a Kevlar band. I was also glad to see a billet drum in it. He plans to change to a powerglide down the road so with the good drum and transbrake I should be able to recover a few bucks out of it.

You don't rebuild your own transmissions?..
I assume it's so easy that it's a waste of your time...

Just to be clear, you are saying someone put stock parts in a trans previously built by CRT?

Yes it was rebuilt at least once probably twice since it was new. Heck I bought the car around 2008. The transmission ran great running 10.0’s several years ago with my old 408 and 6.54 with his stock crank 360.

I rebuild my own powerglides but could care less about building 727’s. He charged me 80.00 tonight for parts so I wrote him a check for 140.00 and will take him out for some wings and a beer after this China Virus passes.

I'm still "allowed" to go to work everyday. I don't have a problem finding motivation of doing projects so if i were to HAVE to stay home for 2 weeks I could get alot of things done. Only problem is when I get into a project and need something and won't be able to get it.. I got many projects going on around the house and have been trying to get what I need encase that ends up being the case. I do keep hoping the virus crap will go away and we can get back to "normal"" life as I do have that concern in the back of my mind.

I guess poor paychecks are better than none.... still working out here, but not much coming in the door. I find it surprising how many Californians are coming over to hang out on the river.

Some people aren’t using their heads at all.

Up here in Maine I'm still working as I work at a shipyard that builds ships for the Navy, and we are classified as critical infrastructure, though that hasn't prevented our governor from demanding we shut down. Slowly but surely getting my Dart back together, though my engine, trans and converter are still down in Conn getting freshened. No telling when I'll be able to get them back. But in the meantime I'm busy rewiring the car, getting some chassis work/repairs done.
