Long valves on W2's with .600 lift?

-
Again their version of +.200 results in a 5.111 valve. There's no standard.

I may use a lashcap to get the correct length. Or narrow the head on an intake. No big deal.

Right now all is on hold as far as racing so I'll deal with it after my block is done.

Well Jim...Turns out the 5.165 exhaust valve I have here (bought for a sample) will work. Manley put a thicker margin on the valve but it really is close to the 5.140 I need from the tip to the valve face.

My buddy's $30,000 R3-blocked, Brodix spec head WISSOTA engine uses the samle size valve. 5.140 intake/5.165 exhaust. These sell for around $21.00 each so they are affordable.

I got a heads up from a member on ST then spoke with my friend who sez that sounded right.

So the mystery may be solved.

I believe this bad boy is around 630 HP... could do better with ported heads but the rules dictate no mods.

That’s a pretty healthy cam..... especially with the 1.7 rockers.
Especially for heads that flow around 280-ish on the intake.

My W-2's are at .294 @ .600 and Wyrmryder and I had a helluva time convincing our cam grinder to give me a bit more lift than his first couple of suggestions. I may go to 1.6 intake rockers to get a bit more on the top end.

The owner of this WISSOTA spec motor spins this thing 7800. I'm too cautious for much over 7,000 rpm.

My Bowtie and Ford friends all are running .650-.680 lifts...some even more with their boutique wide bore engines. That's how they make 800HP at a reliable 8500-9000 rpm.

says do not need seats
ok to set up @ 1.950
says nitrided version $15 not needed
says to not have to be set up tight to coil bind but could be
good news on the valves

Certainly sounds like this deal will work except for the locks for 4 groove valves. Not a deal breaker by any means.

maybe use 3/8 retainers so you get a bigger lock
I'm not up to date on all the various varieties of retainers and locks but everything has to match
chevy valves with 4 grooves
what's the world coming to

The Gen3 Hemi uses a multi groove lock...the LS must also!

Here's another 25 HP!!!!

I think Total Seal is making more $$$ selling this stuff than piston rings. Just a few grams of this stuff was $25.00!

So the Corona crisis has finally hit home... my Jones cam is on hold waiting for a cam core to be shipped. The supplier is still working with a smaller crew but they are not answering their phones so the ETA is unknown.

So be it...
