Being a “builder” never means swinging the hammer. It is describing the architect and/or funder of the construction. No modern “builder” of homes does any actual construction themselves, they just procure the land, organize the contractors and fund the project. The modern ones don’t do the archetucture or engineering either, they contract it.
Agree. I studied this design at one time, the engineer who had to make it work was like, you have to be kidding. I stood for a long time till it was deemed unsafe and was restored around 2003? Preservation History - Fallingwater
