" it has been rebuilt but with unknown mileage sense rebuilding."
Cool ! Got me a cheap motor to drop in the wagon ! Whoopeee !

Not so fast there cowboy- as l would later find out.
First let me say this. I DO NOT consider myself a motor man. I only know enough to get myself in trouble. With that being said....
Up on looking in the intake and exhaust ports l could see what l consider a pretty fair amount of oil / carbon build up on the valve stems and top of the piston. I figured either valve seals or improperly seated rings or both.
Once the head was off, l noticed quite a ridge at the top of the cylinder. I decided to take it all the way on down. I used a ridge reamer to take the ridge off so l wouldn't (hopefully) break any rings taking the piston out.
Well, long story short.
Here are the piston and rods and what are left of the rings. As you can see every top ring was broken except for number 3.
Number 4 piston is burnt.
Just some light scoring on the cylinder wall where the open end of the rings were riding.
Gonna take more than I wanted to get it together but l am glad I didn't just throw it in the hole hoping it was ok.
