VIRUS HITTING CLOSE TO HOME

-
Well, only 85% of the cases show mild symptoms and don’t get tested...but they are still spreading it to others and about 4% of those that they share with will die.
lets make sure we dont allow them to eat fish either, they might choke on a bone and die
quit living your life in fear

How about you leave the gene pool now and leave the rest of us to fight this thing. There is no you in T-E-A-M.

Your arrogance is exceeded only by your ignorance.

not for another 3 weeks because they are locked inside

you guys realize we are not immortal dont you?
our great great grandfather lost that privilege when he ate of the forbidden fruit
regardless of what the true cause is, the death rate of life is still 100%

people need to quit being such fear mongerers and get on with life

You my friend are an idiot that doesn’t care for others.

You my friend are an idiot that doesn’t care for others.
theres a difference between caring and carrying on
trust me, we'll all get this sooner or later
stop freaking out about it, as long as you dont go around licking toilet seats you'll be fine

Guys, I'm sure he is not letting his loved ones go downtown. He does not want them to catch this anymore than anyone else.

We are all in this together. The reality is this virus will thrive on young and old, healthy and sick, strong and weak.

Just try to give a **** about the "old", "sick" and "weak" among us.
That's all it will take to help.

I understand. You do care and just like me are doing what it takes to protect yourself and anyone around you.
just tired of the paranoia this current virus has created.

this little exert really embodies what i mean

In 1948 C.S. Lewis penned an essay titled “On Living in an Atomic Age.” Today, in this unsettled time of fear about the coronavirus pandemic, it remains wise advice which I recommend to you today.

In one way we think a great deal too much of the atomic bomb. “How are we to live in an atomic age?” I am tempted to reply: “Why, as you would have lived in the sixteenth century when the plague visited London almost every year, or as you would have lived in a Viking age when raiders from Scandinavia might land and cut your throat any night; or indeed, as you are already living in an age of cancer, an age of syphilis, an age of paralysis, an age of air raids, an age of railway accidents, an age of motor accidents.”

In other words, do not let us begin by exaggerating the novelty of our situation. Believe me, dear sir or madam, you and all whom you love were already sentenced to death before the atomic bomb was invented: and quite a high percentage of us were going to die in unpleasant ways. We had, indeed, one very great advantage over our ancestors—anesthetics; but we have that still. It is perfectly ridiculous to go about whimpering and drawing long faces because the scientists have added one more chance of painful and premature death to a world which already bristled with such chances and in which death itself was not a chance at all, but a certainty.

This is the first point to be made: and the first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.

Flawed logic at it's finest. "We're all gonna die at some point anyway, so **** it and get on with life until god says it's time." LOL! Gimme a fuckin break.

I posted a link with some numbers. For those in doubt check the numbers again in seven days.

I just watched a 5 minute video of a nurse on the east side of the state, complaining about this and telling us things about the hospital she works at, she has no earthly business sharing
considering the hippa violations she made in that video, if anyone at her hospital sees that video, I can guarantee you she'll be out of a job

my point is, be careful what you share guys
our wives might use us as a sounding board or a venting place, but chances are they do this under the expectation that it stays with us

Good point. The medical professionals are pretty clear on the concerns related to Covid19 and it's dangerous nature. Most know the importance of never sharing patient specifics with anyone....not even spouses.

Be well,
Pat

In Melbourne,Aus here many places have shut down people are working from home who can work they have estimated a million people out of work and growing . People are worried about getting evicted . A lot of people don’t have funds to get through a month let alone 3. Parks , beaches , airports domestic very limited. Nursing homes visiting is off limits not aloud to walk in groups , 1.5 metres distance. They have been on tv , radio book face, advertising to stay home and only go out to shop and get supplies only. We are in stage 2 and they are looking @ stage 3 if people don’t pull their head in and start to take notice.Still some shleps think their invincible and disregard what’s been told for their safety and others. Government stating country virtually shut down for min 3 months . Wife gets laid off on Monday as hotel is shutting down for 3 months (chef) she still has her job back when it reopens and I’m still going but down to 4 days as I’m a service Tech and I’m on the road but man it’s eerie quiet. I wear gloves and scrub my hands like I’m going to preform surgery. We are ok and have enough to keep us going but just need to watch out not to spend Stupidity. This is pretty bad **** we are facing. Take care everyone and prepare. Stay safe.

"I don't have any symptoms, therefore I must not have it."

There in lies 50% of the problem.

9 days to live without a host (on a surface) and up to 14 day incubation time without symptoms once inside a host.

How many people can touch a surface (like a credit card reader, or a gas pump handle) in 9 days?
How many people can I then come into contact with in those 14 days after I touch that card reader?

The other 50% is the high mortality rate.

Those professionals who have done the actual math are scared.

My dad has a coworker with it, he was admitted to a hospital in Chicago. My sisters neighbor had it and he will likely be in the hospital by next week unless he starts to recover. I don’t personally know anyone else with it but both cases I am familiar with are not really going well. My 88 year old grand mother seems to not be too concerned and is living her life. I see that attitude a lot on this forum as well. I want to ask my grandmother and all you folks that are at risk but don’t care, do you not know how bad it sucks to have someone pass away? I understand it’s your life but it’s going to be hell on your loved ones. Especially when they have to wrestle with the idea that they could have possibly passed it to you.

I call the attitude described above the "2 boats and a helicopter mentality"-

A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe.

"Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast."

"No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me."

Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat.

"Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. The levee's gonna break any minute."

Once again, the preacher is unmoved. "I shall remain. The Lord will see me through."

After a while the levee breaks, and the flood rushes over the church until only the steeple remains above water. The preacher is up there, clinging to the cross, when a helicopter descends out of the clouds, and a state trooper calls down to him through a megaphone.

"Grab the ladder, Preacher. This is your last chance."

Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him.

Predictably, he drowns.

A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?"

God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."

I didn`t read all these posts , but I got an e mail yesterday , that said they caught a chinese spy in N.Y. city with a bunch of virus samples .
Any one hear of this ?

Thread moved to the religion forum in 3...2...1...

Oh, wait- we don't have a religion forum.

Let's keep it that way.
