I'm looking for a A833 manual transmission within 6 hours the Los Angeles area. I'll also be looking for the linkages and parts to do a auto to manual swap as well.

I'd be happy to trade my recently rebuilt automatic transmission if anyone is looking to switch to automatic too.

You may want to say which year and model vehicle you're working with so you get the correct parts. Also, engine size and console or not.

I might have a complete take-out from a 7/8/9 Dart, less the hump and console
2.66low trans, bellhouse, mount, shifter, pedal kit, and linkage.
Good used B&B clutch, 340 flywheel, TO fork, I think I got it all.
Also have an A833 overdrive with bellhouse and bushed front cluster pin hole. I think I street slick-shifted this one on second only, maybe direct as well, cuz for a time I ran it with 4.30s and more.
Also, a Mr.Gasket V-Gate shifter.
All SBM A-body stuff.

I know, I know it's a long trip, lol. Just thought I'd toss it out there.

Ps, I might be persuaded to part with my Street Slick-shifted, Commando box with a GVod behind it.maybe possibly.

Good call. It's a 1970 Dodge Dart with a 78 LA 360. I don't have a center console either.

Looks like your inbox is full. Do you know if the 340 clutch and parts will work with a 360? Also where are you located?

You'll need a 360 car flywheel or a weight kit for it. A good machine shop may be able to drill a 318/340 flywheel to balance it to 360 specs. Check to see if the end of your 360 crank is drilled deep enough for the transmission input shaft, and if it's been finish machined for a pilot bushing. If it isn't machined for a stock bushing, you can use a later V6/V8 magnum pilot BEARING. It fits in the converter button hole instead.

I really appreciate the info. I'll be sure to account for this. Thank you!

I located an A833 O/D trans from an 80's truck in a yard in Denver area. Not sure how much it would cost to get it, but it is an interesting find. Complete with shifter and all parts, still in the truck. It would be a long tail shaft transmissions though and would work in B/E body cars, but no the A-Body without swapping the tailshaft housing and output shaft.

It's a little bit more work to adapt than I'm looking for but I really appreciate the offer! Do the truck od 833s have the same strength issues as the aluminum ones?

my mom lives in SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH I can ship from there,

Thanks for reaching out, I apologize for the late reply. I've been swamped at work for the past couple weeks.
Looks like freight is about $160 to 200.
Is there anything major needed to be adapted for a 70 a-body? Also do you have any linkages, clutch, bellhousing, or flywheel?

I thought that the trucks would have the A833 4SP O/D in the 78 to 84 time frame. Two trucks I found in Denver had 4SP trans, but they were not A833's. I could not identify what they were. Totally unfamiliar transmissions with side cover plates on the passenger side. Nothing like an 833. Any ideas what trans was used? Both trucks were Dodge D100's. Totally baffled by this. I thought Mopar only used the 833 during this time. I did check both trans's and they were 4sp's.

Hmm it seems like it could be a np-435 or np-445 manual transmission. I haven't heard much about these.
