Total surprise, but business has slowed down and I was last driver hired(so first to go)..but.they gave me 2 weeks pay and my unused vacation time not bad considering I've only been with the company 6 months..so I'll collect till they start hiring back hopefully not long out of work,on the bright side no one here is sick and I'll have plenty of time to do things around the house/yard I've been putting off!!

sorry to hear this
hopefully the parting pay will hold you over

Might be a good idea to start applying to the companies that are even busier than normal with the lock downs. Amazon, grocery stores and other essential businesses. Good luck brother.

Was thinking about that driving home..

Sorry to hear that, keep your chin up, things will improve.

A buddy of mine moved to Alabama (To work for NASA) from California last October...Moved 6 cars and 4 U-Hauls worth of stuff....THEN got laid off two days ago.

Best of luck to you in these crazy times.
My company just shut the shop down. A few thousand employees are now home doing nothing with no pay due to this virus.

I’m lucky (so far) being there are daily inspections to be done according to Federal law to allow the equipment to be used on a daily basis.

Being your off, you are right about one thing, making the best use of your time now that you have plenty of it for around the house. I have a good bit more time as well with this current menace we’re all dealing with.

Dang that sucks. Good luck man. Sounds like you got a plan though.

Hows this happen? 2.2 trillion bucks to support businesses and to give everyone bridge money. Seems like all virus related layoffs should just be temporary with no loss of basic income to anyone. That included $350M pork to the Kennedy center for the endowment of the arts should go a long way to replace their crystal stemware....
