Made in the USA

-
I have a running challenge going on over on the B body side-

Find a USA made computer with USA parts.

One person accepted the challenge and returned four links.

None were made with USA parts.

None.

One link was to apple that is "working on" a USA made product.
I know I dude who builds desk top units I ask him.

I don't even think Samsung (S. Korea) uses S. Korea made components in their computers.

At least they are an ally.

Ercisson (Sweden) is as well (or are they historically neutral).

You will likely find a lot of Taiwan and Malaysian made stuff as well.

Sure intel and AMD are American, as are major video card companies.

...but all their stuff (other than perhaps the actual silicon valley processors) is sourced elsewhere.

You're taking to a dude who builds desktops (and servers) right now.

You going without a computer, cell phone, TV or radio of any kind?

Samsung is Korean. DUnno where their stuff is made though. I suspect that many MANY companies are going to be dropping China as a workshop. They're just too hot.

Every time I visit the American relatives I find they give no fucks about anything they buy other than price...made by slaves in a foreign country ...a Chinese knockoff of an American manufactures product they knocked off...A company that just shut the local factory and moved it overseas...none of this matters ...just tell me how cheap I can get it... even if I have to do a group buy on some website.
In fact I find my fellow Canadians are more loyal about buying American than the Americans I know.....sad as hell when you think about it

I like that most new Dodges have the VIN in the sales ad. First digit is country it was made in
1 = USA
2= Canada
3 = Mexico
It seems like the nicer models are made here. The plane janes are made in Mexico

Post 33

Did anyone see any of the items I mentioned on that list?

All of the "technology" section was ancillary items like phone cases.

My order of preference...
1. DIY
2. USA
3. Allies
4. Friends of US
5. Canada (j/k!)
5. Everyone else

China (not Taiwan)

Finished my first woodworking project, a planter stand. I'm a total beginner but it's functional and 'Made in the USA'. For the money I spent on clear pine and tools, I probably could have bought 10 imports. lol

Walmart is full of people that fit that description
Or their wife works there.
(Like someone I know that complains about his union.)
And then there is the Air Jordan crowd.

But none of the 10 imports would give you the personal satisfaction of building your own.

...and now you have tools.
yep!, and there will be a next time...

Chisels from the Czech Republic
Saw from England
Dewalt miter saw on the way, imported from Taiwan

and alas a Pony woodworkers' vise imported from China (I could have made my own, I still may)

I've been wearing New Balance for years.

Easy to find in size 13 and 14.

Don't last very long for me though.
