I know about worldometers. I have been watching it for months. I posted links to it long ago as well. But you posted a link to the daily births and deaths / world population page That’s why I asked what it had to do with it.

the Covid numbers started a short time ago. One month ago there was 2600 dead due to Covid. Today it's over 30,000. The exponential value will increase. Tomorrow the number will be much larger. That is why I say the numbers do mean something. If people see 50,000 will they think it is serious enough? Will it take 100,000 before it matters. Or does a loved one have to die?
The percentage means nothing to me other than a comparison. The real deaths do mean something to me though.

To me an amazing info metric:

Less than 3 days ago all the open cases (due to accurate testing or whatever) was half a million cases. In the past 24 hours we skyrocketed 50,000 cases into about 720,000 total cases.

It took months to get to 500,000.

3 days, half of that again on top of it.

Testing accuracy be damned, this is spreading like wildfire. In a few weeks this post will more obsolete than the steam engine.

I do wish we all could be tested and we could prove that it is only .000000001% of people who get it that will have serious effects or death etc. But that won't happen as it is not possible. All we can do is try our best not to spread this virus so that some old, sick or weak person is not exposed to it due to our personal decisions.

That would be 30,000 (now more) since they started counting, which is more than a month ago, probably around two months ago-which doesn’t detract from your concerns at all.

We are now re-evaluating and leaning towards another store run while our county is relatively low in the count.....and planing on more of a 2 month isolation period rather than 3 weeks.

If you believe China (and I'm not sure I do) it took them 4 months plus to get it under control.

The US has been enacting less stringently enforced isolation rules for what?

2 weeks?

As we were evaluating our situation and taking inventory, just as we agreed another store run was in order, Pres Trump was holding today's conference and said something to the effect of- expecting the peak at the end of April.

That's another 30 days and that's just the peak (if it even shakes out that way), so still thousands of additional cases daily, but declining after another 30 days.

we figured- get out there before everyone else realizes what was just said and there's another run.

Store was calm. Not many people there.
Still no paper products. No eggs (?!?) Very few beans.
Limit of 2 canned fish.
No limit on soup.

I feel a little better.
 
Wow, just watched 20/20. Not good in NY. They are already overwhelmed. If a family member gets the virus you cant go in with them. A doctor interviewed talked about people face timing with family before death. Unreal
 
OK- clarification on the President's time frame.

He said the peak was expected in 2 weeks.

Wasn't that what was said uh, 2 weeks ago?

I have preached and preached to people at work and they just say the same old things well if I die it's my time. Or some stupid **** like that. There is probably 4 people that i know that are taking it seriously and trying to be proactive about it
