Could use your thoughts please. with this dam 19 problem ,I don't know if its worth it this year to insure the Satellite, I think this 19 thing is going to go most of the year.NO cruise in,car shows nothing, bummed out for sure.

In the States "no insurance" will get the tag pulled and your license pulled unless you file an "Off road" affidavit, but you still have to surrender the tag.

insure it. Just because there may not be organized car shows or cruises, doesn't mean you can load up and go for an afternoon drive thru the country. They cant and wont keep everyone locked down all summer and by summer, people are outside and naturally socially distancing, this will be over by mid june.

I would keep it insured, your rate will go up when you go to have it insured again.

Insure it and enjoy driving it as much as possible! Sometimes I drive right past the local car show on Wednesday evenings because I prefer driving my car vs. showing it! That's why I built it, to drive it! 65'

i switch between regular insurance and storage insurance on my duster
all it takes is one call to my insurance agent and one click on his end to swap it over

All of mine are insured, and I plan on driving them all...…

Just go for the bare minimum and upgrade when you plan to drive it! It only take a phone call to upgrade.

Wife and I can just drive out here in the sticks. But I hate it when she says "wipe that silly *** grin off your face"!! Before your face cracks!!!

Insure it!
Like many others have said, the most fun I get is driving the car and to hell with the car shows.
That's why I built it, to drive........

BAD IDEA! As one who used to sell insurance, VERY BAD IDEA. You'll not only get higher rates doing it that way but if that becomes a cycle, they can and often will kick you off, which gets attached to your name and ssn in the national database for ALL other insurance agencies to see, which will result in even higher rates at another company.

Your best bet is to go thru a place like JC Taylor or Haggerty where from like April thru September, your classic is insured for driving, then in September(or what other month you negotiate) it rolls automatically into storage insurance.

Haggerty quoted for 247 bucks for 100/300/100 limits and an agreed value of 15,000 for total loss of vehicle. for the year. With a 8,000 mile limit per year.

Bare bones, make sure you have home owners if it's in the garage...and you'll have a second

Insurance with Hagerty is cheap IMO. I also just put full stated value coverage on my 95 Cummins Ram pickup. I hardly ever drive it and mainly just local.. They had a hard time figuring its value, but the little girl there and I agreed real easy. Value it at $5000 full coverage and I am happy. Would I sell it for that? no, but I am happy!! Costs me I believe it was $180a yr and not $600!! Local ins. co. gave me ONLY liability and charged stupid for that!!

What better example of "social distance" than to be inside a car driving around and enjoying it?

You can even "interact" from a safe distance when receiving a thumbs up.

I insure my '74 Dart Sport through Hagerty and it costs $212 a year with an agreed price of $10,000 and a mileage restriction of 600 per year, pleasure use only.
That's also with the 5 year safe driver's discount.
It must also be garaged or stored inside for 6 months of the year. I chose November 1st to May 1st of each year.
The weather isn't good enough here to drive outside of that anyway.
I can't afford not to insure it for that cheap rate...........

+1 for Hagerty. My coverage is very cheap and I’ve had to request a tow twice over the years and both times the customer service has been excellent and always on a flat bed with very professional drivers.

Keep it insured unless your house insurance covers it if it is stored. Like mentioned above. You may have to put it in storage. Make some calls to make sure it's covered.

And the other good thing about now is with our gas guzzlers Gas is at it's lowest price in years. Insure with Hagerty and drive away in good weather.

Insure it, My god man the roads are open everyday, the gas is cheap and there's no traffic. Car shows, cruise nights, meh! We can live a season without those. I couldn't last a season without driving.

Yes, insure it. Remember- your car can be damaged just sitting in the garage. Storms, fire, crazy drivers and things falling out of the sky.
