Please advise! I’m finding hardtop windshield seals listed everywhere, but not for convertible. Anyone has any suppliers in mind? Thank you

Did you try Laysons? They are a sponsor here and have a lot of early A parts that others just don't stock.

To my knowledge, none of the rubber manufactures offers a 63 to 66 A-Body convertible windshield gasket. That being Precision, Steele or Clesters.

I would imagine finding a NOS one will be equally difficult to locate. You might check with AMS Obsolete or Len Dawson. If you did get so lucky to locate a NOS piece, you might want to talk to Steele Rubber to see if they might want to look at it for the sake of reproducing the gasket.

Good luck with the search.

What is the difference between the drop top weatherstrip and a sedan or hardtop weatherstrip?

I am not sure of the difference, but there must be a significant difference as Chrysler lists a different part number between the convertible application and the others. The factory part number for the convertible application is 2424 392 while the hardtop / sedan application uses a 2242 450.

I know from some of the B-Body applications, the convertibles have more of a rake for the front windshield which requires a larger piece of glass and thus a larger gasket. I did not check the NAGs number to see if the glass might interchange, but for whatever the reason, Chrysler chose to use a different gasket for these applications.

If the glass is out of the car, you might be able to take some decent pictures of the profile and forward them to Steele Rubber to see if they might have a similar profile. Restoration Specialties and Supply also offers some different profiles, but the problem in going this route is that your unable to make the corners and would have to bond the materials to the existing corners.

Hopefully with the provided part number, you might find that needle in the haystack and find you a gasket.

From what I've researched, you can use the Hardtop windshield seal for the Convertible, There is a minor difference on the inside pillars, the hardtop seal used in a convertible leaves a little bit of the pillars exposed ( like 1/8"). I will be using the hardtop seal on my convertibles and make sure while the windshield is out that the pillars and cleaned and shiny matching paint!

Thank you for information, it makes me feel a little better, not perfect fit is better than non existent

I measured my hardtop and convertible gaskets (in cars to make sure) and it's just a minor difference. The outer flanges are the exact same between all models 4 door, 2door post, hardtop and convertibles. inner flanges are different (slightly) look at the measurements in this post 63-66 Dart Windshield Gasket Source?
it's minor and not a problem at all

Ok, so I ordered seal from rockauto for hardtop , it worked, probably not perfect, but with rust and body work I had to do I’m not even sure how it suppose to look anymore
But it holds the glass!

Dang, looks good from here and as long as it holds the glass in and doesn't leak you are golden!

In a picture you can see some sealant oozing out, I trimmed it after it dried, as for leaking, no idea, I’ll try not to drive in the rain anyway
