Does anyone know were to purchase the 2 stud early A trans mount?
I've looked at a few parts places and they all show the later style mount.

:thankyou:

Yes you're right the single stud one does fit ok. The reason I thought it would be better to have the 2 stud mount is because the later 67 up trans crossmember has a tab to hold the mount in and then the single bolt where the early ones have 2 studs but no tab.

If the double stud isn't available I could just order the later one if you guys thinks it will work ok.
Thanks

The single stud mount was first used in the 66 A body and will work just fine in earlier A's . I've used them in my Valiants and Barracudas for nearly 30 years now with no issues with both 6 cylinder and small blocks under automatics ,3 speeds , and 4 speeds.

I thought it was actually the same tranny mount, do you have a pic of the 2 different kinds? I’ll be using the factory 4sp trans with my magnum conversion. Does the trans type matter in the mount?
Thanks

Dan here is a pic of a 66 down and a 67 up mount. Some cars in 66 have the single bolt style, my 66 Canadian valiant had the 2 bolt style. Basically they are very close to the same. Auto and manual trans should use the same mount.

My car did have the single bolt mount but the tranny support did have the 2 bolt holes, mount must of been changed when they changed out the trans. Is there a difference between the supports that have the one bolt or 2 bolts? I noticed you said the single bolt mounts have some kind of tab.
Thanks for the pic.

Dan here is a pic of the 2 different trans supports. I believe the lower one is from a 69 barracuda and the upper one is from my 65 Barracuda. Not sure if the 66 early a's have the tab like the 67 up's do. You can see the second pic what the tab looks like and has only a single bolt hole.

this is just a close up of the tab on the newer style trans support.

My two cents: I ran the single bolt version for years in my 65 Barracuda, 340 4-speed. Never had a problem. The mount is bolted to the crossmember at the bottom, and to the trans at the top. Can't imagine why the lack of a tab would be a problem. I did get a two bolt version a while back and put it in last fall. Urethane, if I remember correctly (it's hard to keep up). If you need to be concourse correct, pay the $$$ to get the two bolt version. Otherwise, the single bolt version will work just fine.
