I have the rear suspension apart on my 1968 Barracuda Fastback. I noticed that it has 6 leafs on both side and a 5/8" front mounting bolt. So doing measurements, the front eye to the perch pin is 20" and the leafs are 2 1/2" wide.
Checking the broadcast sheet, I see that it was marked Rear leafs right and Left side as code 132. Is this what they called the HD Suspension that went in 340 cars or did someone add different springs during its life?

If anyone is interested in the answer, I found on another forum that 6 leafs is the HD leaf springs put behind the 340 and 383 cars.

I have the same springs here. They were under a 318 notch back. No sway bar, no disc brakes, nothing else special about the build. So I credit these springs to the parts shortage during that model year. I'll add that this car also had 67 model grilles in the 68 header panel but I can't testify they were OEM.

You could get HD springs with or without a sway bar in 67 and 68. My 66 had 6 leaves with a #368 Rallye package which included the 6 leaf springs, HD shocks, front sway bar, HD torsion bars, Blue Streak tires and wide wheels.
