Locked out distributor...

99.9% of dirt cars run a locked dizzy.

When I set-up my kid's B-mod SBC deal I set-up the MSD dizzy for an advance... we set it at maybe 15 degrees to start and 38 degrees at 2800 rpm. That, along with a lower numerical gear than most guys run, allowed the car to accelerate hard out of the corners but without shocking the rock hard spec tires. Instead of turning 3000-3500 off turn 4 on the start/restart he was down to 2500... the Jones cam we installed made the 358 pull like a freight train off the turns at those speeds.

The locals, including the PO of his car (and friend), said that car was the fastest he'd ever seen it run on the start.

It also allowed the car to restart easily when hot in case he spun (which he did) and did not want to cause a caution and start at the tail on the restart. He had an MSD 6 series analog box.

My SBM will run a MSD 6T analog box with a MSD dizzy locked out This car will come off the corners on the start at 4K. I'm using the old circle track 6T box because A)...I'm cheap and B) I don't trust the newer MSD stuff with Chinese components. Seen way too many fail.
