Replacement radios

Got it, a lot of them don’t ship to me, I think I can find something that will work. How hard is it to connect them for an amateur? I see you using stock radio volume and power button and OEM tuner as well?

I took my original AM radios from both of my darts to Retro Radio - Mom and Pop business (for real) that always has a booth at Carlisle. They replaced the internal components with new stuff and so now I have AM/ FM set up for 4 speakers and an RCA jack in the back that I use for a patch cord into a USB, CD Player, whatever. It wasn't cheap but it has worked fine for 5-6 years. If you can't find them, I'll look up their contact info if you are interested. From the front it still looks like the same AM radio.

Can you use original controls too?

yeah, they don't change the case, knobs, or the plate with stations on it. It literally looks just like the original radio. You just flick it off and on quick to go from AM to FM. In FM you find a place on the dial with nothing going on, use the buttons like stock to lock in that position and when you want to use something other than a radio, just go there in FM and use your device with a plug. It would be easier as a bluetooth connection and I think they do them that way now (for more money). The only drawback is that you still have the AM radio dial, so you have to hunt for FM stations other than those you pre-program. If you want I can send a picture. All you do is send them a functional AM radio that fits/looks like you want it to...

Please, if you have pictures that would be awesome, also their contact number and where located, thank you

Here is the module I used. Put it in a stock AM radio and integrated the original radio buttons to work the bluetooth module.
LN-BT02 Bluetooth 4.0 Audio Receiver Board Wireless Stereo Sound Module For Car | eBay
I also added a amplifier module so none of the original radio electronics are used. It pumps a pair of 6x9's and the dash speaker pretty good.
If you really wanted to you can install a radio module too. No good radio stations around here anymore so I didnt bother. I hooked the bluetooth antenna to the cars antenna, it has good range.

I broke down and had them do one for me also. Had a USB port added. Very nice workmanship. Thanks for your experience.

What's the general knowledge about am/fm factory radio availability for a '65 Barracuda? I met a guy at a show that had one in his '65 FS. He did say the radio was not original to the car but that you could get them. They are mentioned in the '65 Valiant owner's manual too. Anybody have one in their '65?

I bought one for my 64 dart from this forum,
I think 65 it’s easier to find since they have square buttons

Here are photos of the radios in my Darts done by Retro Radio Restoration. They look like the original, because what you see is your original radio...

I have a couple. They go for big money. Model #366.

Also some 70's Darts, Valiants, Demons, Dusters had AM - FM radios that will work but their Buttons are black.

I had my original 65 Dart radio converted by "Ricks radio conversions". Have AM, FM, USB and blue tooth. You can find him on here or look him up on Facebook or online.
