Just brainstorming here... wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this.

I'm a big fan of borrowing cues from classic sports cars and repurposing them. I am running "Wantanabe" style/replica wheels on my Dart Sport and while it's not a look for everyone, I get positive feedback, questions and frankly, more attention than I want about the wheels everywhere I go. Regardless, the aesthetic matches the design of the car well enough to not "clash," they're different from what everyone else runs and they suit my personal preference. I'd call that a success and I suspect that other properly styled, period correct looking, unexpected wheel styles could work great on these cars too.

One of the best looking OEM wheel designs in history (IMO) are the Fuchs wheels that came on old Porsche 911s. They're a clean flat five spoke design that you can recognize from a mile away. I suspect that a lowered Abody that was set up for more "back roads" kind of activities might look damn sharp with a set of these wheels.

Don't get me wrong, I have no particular love for Porsches. I like some things about them but find the cult of owners to be generally insufferable enough to drive me off from ever really wanting to own one. :)

So this style came to mind as there are companies making copies of these wheels in various diameters. IIRC, the OEM Porsche bolt pattern is not 5x4.5" or 5x4” but these are common enough bolt pattern that I believe that some of the replicas may be available in bolt patterns and sizes that could be made to fit. This style MIGHT be one that would look relatively period correct, even in a 17" size...maybe? If so, this could open the door to a selection of modern rubber as a nice side benefit.

Thoughts? What other wheel styles could we steal to go on our Abodies?

just get yourself some daisies and call it a day

I love the daisy spoke wheels. They're definitely similar but not quite the same look.
IMO, the more rounded spokes look a little more 1960s American hotrod...which is a great look but not super original or unusual.

This wheel looks like it should be on an Italian exotic show car from the 70s.
I don’t think it’d work on an A-body or Mopar but I kinda like it and kinda don’t like it...

I was hoping to see Turbo Twists.....I love those, followed by RX-8 wheels....as far as OEM wheels go.

Since you asked for opinions, I think those Porsche wheels would look awful on a A-body Mopar. But you know what they say about opinions...

That wheel looks like a cap
Yeah, they are just cheap looking. Also, if I'm not mistaken GM touted these as a futuristic concept. They had a composite plastic center bonded to a metal rim. And they are heavier than most other wheels their size.

If I had the time or the skills I’d photoshop up a pic. I’m also distracted by Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest wheels which are 5x4.5” (5x114.3) bolt pattern. Hmmm...

I had 7. 81 monte carlo. Sold them. Guy was doing a resto, said they were hard to find.

I saw these on a Duster for sale last time we were in Mexico. Not sure how well they fit, broken stud and all...
Looks like from an Acura

remember 5 on 100mm is not 5 on 4" (101.6mm) ....close but no cigar. Ive seen Rallys on a Neon, they fit but they wont center unless there is a bushing and they still get torn up. There is a 64ish Buick Skylark/Wildcat on my route that has similar rims (17" ,much skinnier runners and lots of black background, and it looks like ***. If course the car is a pale yellow too that doesn't help. I like Minilites myself as a retro rim.
