Anyone plumbed their fuel line through a bulkhead fitting through the shock tower?

Behind the shock mount or in front of? Or on the top flat area???

Show me the pics! Bulkhead fitting to a regulator. Please and thank you!

Fuel lines are typically run on the inside of the frame.

Less likely to be damaged in a wreck or collision that way.

I used ptfe and didn't need any connectors, one line from regulator near tank to inner fender. Followed the same path as the stock line.

There is a space between the top of the frame and the bottom of the inner fender.

Doesn't come close to headers, not close to kinking, put heat stuff on it just to be safe.

Ran my fuel line over the shock tower.

I saw that Andyf did, i thought it was a clean idea. scroll through the pics here.
Starting a BB Duster project

i think i'm going to use a 3/8" steel line instead of braided line, i haven't had time to look for bulkhead that would work with double flare instead of AN...

Inside the frame rail and up to the pump. Heat rises, the factory location is cooler when the hood is closed. No need for a bulkhead fitting.

I just did this yesterday. I mounted it forward as the NHRA rules say that you should not have the regulator or connection within 6 inches of the firewall. It would have been easier where Andy did his. I have 1/2 inch hard line under the car. That is just a gauge not a regulator.

how did you connect the hardline to that bulkhead fitting? is it flared or what?[/QUOTE

-8an fittings all the way up to the Y, Then -6an to the sniper. I am awaiting a 90 degree -8an fitting to complete the connection underneath the fender. Should be here this week. I miscalculated the fittings needed.

Did it on my Scamp to keep it away from the heat. Line is covered with rubber hose for protection.

after a little reading, looks like a steel or other hard line can be flared to 37* and then you can use a nut and bushing to hook up the an AN fitting.

Only concern I have with that routing is a tire coming apart and trashing everything.

As mentioned, use AN flare fittings and it's easy to get done.

found some russell AN to 45* double flare adapters and ordered them. then i found the part number for the flaring set for 37* flares for my hydraulic flaring setup. so i ordered that junk, THEN i got lucky and the order for the russell adapters got cancelled.
gonna run some 3/8" copper nickel lines and run -6AN bulkheads through the inner fender for fuel supply and return to the tank.

Ahhh, cracked thinking of everything as usual! You raise a good point. My revised plan now will be to shield the hose in the fender well with lightweight chrome moly tubing.

Or some type of shield made from plate.

I used bulkhead fittings but made my own small bulkhead plates that bolt to the inner fender so I can take things apart easily.

Kent, you might be interested in the mount I made to put the Hyperspark coil on the end of the cylinder head. Requires the low mount bracket for the alternator.

You can buy AN to tube adapters, the tube part uses a compression fitting.
